SPECIAL THANKS TO DeSoto Family Theatre, Carolyn Walker, Jen Gillette, Julia Chateau, & BPACC House Managers: Vicki Dabney, Jessica Gibbs, Beth Thorne OUR SPONSORS DIRECTOR’S NOTE COSTUME DESIGN We have been on quite a wild ride from deciding on this show to having you in the audience reading this note. In February of 2020, the powers that be decided Lauren Jewell that BPACC would produce a youth production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid in Madeline Wright 2021. By March, it was announced to the community and, only a week later, the world shut down. SOUND ENGINEERING The smart choice would have been to postpone the show, pick a smaller Tim Hall production, or, honestly, cancel it all together – but we didn’t. We stubbornly held Gage Markey our breath and waited for COVID-19 to pass. No one could have predicted that accommodations would still need to be made over a year later—but make them we LIGHTING DESIGN did. This cast is a powerhouse of strength, determination, and passion. Everyone else had shut their doors on these young people, but we stayed open. I told myself, Ryan McCrory “If we can safely produce art and still give these students amazing memories, I will move heaven and earth to make it happen.” It took fourteen months of my life and seven months of theirs, but here we are with a fully realized show. Of course, it had to be The Little Mermaid; without Disney’s special brand of magic this could never have been possible. The City of Bartlett truly put every precaution in place to provide the safest environment for these young people to create in – no expense or safety measure was spared. The students adhered to every rule and kept their heads up as we took long safety breaks, with one lasting an entire month. When they came back, it was clear the students had practiced at home and were ready to hit the ground running, as if no time had passed. As a director, I could not have asked for more (in fact, I would have settled for a lot less). These students have worked for months because they wanted to do so. These students have chosen to show up for rehearsals more than an hour early and stayed over an hour late every single day to get in more practice. These students have asked for more and more responsibilities and have taken ownership of many creative aspects of the production. I have never worked with such dedicated and hard-work- ing students. They made every minute of this process pure joy for me. I am so excited to be sharing their final product with you. This is not been a normal process; this is not our normal show. This is a tribute to what love looks like. These kids are singing and dancing and acting their hearts out on this stage to give you—and themselves—a gift of love. We are beyond excited to finally share our show with you. We hope it brings some happiness and light into your lives after such a dark year. It certainly has done so for us. But Uncle Howard’s sudden coma leaves the company in the hands of Clyde’s incompetent cousin, Max, and the company’s evil CFO, Edgar Wright. Together, these two manage to confound all of Clyde’s efforts, finally forcing him to quit the company and strike out on his own, finding the money to build his very own “car of the future.” Unfortunately, Wright’s continued efforts from afar to sabotage the new car project result in a failed venture and an undercover sting operation which leaves Clyde facing federal charges. • Muere Max Wright, El «Padre» Humano De ALF
El intérprete también hizo parte de películas como All That Jazz, Reds, The Sting II, Soul Man, The Shadow, entre otras.

FINAL SALUTE Each year we note the passing of influential creators, performers, and institutions. These passings occurred between SoonerCon 28 and the original date for SoonerCon 29. American actress and singer Peggy Lipton passed away May 11, 2019. Her best-known acting role was as undercover cop Julie Barnes on The Mod Squad, 1968-1973. She won a new generation of fans when she ran the Double R Diner as Norma Jennings, in Twin Peaks. Doris Day was a big-band singer, TV and film actress, and talk-show host. She won several awards for comedy and popularity. She was also an activist for animal welfare, lending her star power to several organizations bearing her name. She died May 13, 2019. Domestic cat Tardar Sauce was better known as the meme she unwittingly founded: Grumpy Cat. Dwarfism contributed to her scowling face, which graced ads for Friskies and General Mills Honey Nut Cheerios. The frowning feline cashed in her lives on May 14, 2019. The career of the inspired Tim Conway began in 1962 and lasted through TV, movies, voice-overs, and video games. Among his noted appearances were the goofy Dorf; four years on McHale ‘s Navy; eleven years on The Carol Burnett Show; several solo TV shows; and as Barnacle Boy, 1999-2012, on SpongeBob SquarePants. Conway took his final bow on May 14, 2019. Born in China, I.M. Pei moved to America in 1935 and in 1948 became a professional architect. He designed the John F. Kennedy Library, which took until 1979 to complete. In 1962 he was selected by OKC’s Urban Renewal Authority to redesign our downtown.

  • Innovation to Transformation 2011 Annual Report Director’S Message
From Innovation To Transformation 2011 ANNUAL REPORT Director’s Message Dear Friends, As 2011 draws to a close, Partners In Health is approaching several major milestones. On January 12, we will observe the second anniversary of the devastating earthquake that destroyed Haiti’s capital and killed over a quarter million people. Six months later, we will celebrate the opening of the 320-bed, national referral and teaching hospital we have been building at breathtaking speed in Mirebalais. Around the same time, we will spend the last of the tens of millions of dollars we received after the earthquake, fulfilling the commitment of our Stand With Haiti plan to invest it all in emergency relief and long-term reconstruction over a 30-month period. On my first visit to Haiti following the earthquake, I observed, “Haiti’s catastrophe will forever divide its history into before earthquake and after.” I also realized, although I didn’t say so at the time, that the earthquake would demarcate PIH’s history as well. In the two years since the earthquake—with the support of so many of you who have rallied to our side—our Haitian colleagues have truly performed miracles. They have worked tirelessly to provide lifesaving medical care to tens of thousands of people affected first by the earthquake and then, less than a year later, by a deadly outbreak of cholera that has now killed more than 6,500 people and sickened nearly half a million. They have reinforced our own services and supported national initiatives to strengthen rehabilitative medicine, mental health, and other specialties that had always been weak in Haiti and were even more desperately needed by a population scarred physically and emotionally by the back-to-back disasters.
