MACBETH PRODUCTION NOTES For UK Publicity Enquiries: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] For International Publicity Enquiries: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Stills can be downloaded from: studiocanal.co.uk/press SHORT SYNOPSIS MACBETH is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of Shakespeare’s most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition, set in war torn Scottish landscape. SYNOPSIS Ellon. Scotland. Following a fierce battle in which Macbeth, Thane of Glamis and loyal general of King Duncan’s forces, has finally killed Macdonwald, a traitor and leader of rebel forces, he and fellow soldier Banquo encounter three women scavenging among the fallen soldiers, who foretell that Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland, while Banquo will be the father of future kings. Both men are unnerved by the prophecies but for the moment appear not to believe them. At the battlefield campsite, Angus and Rosse arrive from the King’s court to pass on thanks from their royal master for the success in battle and to bestow Macbeth the title Thane of Cawdor. The previous holder of the title has been killed for treachery against the crown. When Macbeth goes to pay homage to the King, Duncan tells him that he has made arrangements to visit his home at Inverness to celebrate the victory.

MailOnline has also agreed to pay Ms Van Roy substantial damages, as well as her legal costs. As MailOnline has accepted, the publication of Ms Van Roy’s identity as a complainant in a rape case and of the other (actual and purported) private information caused Ms Van Roy enormous distress. In recognition of the falsity, and gravity, of the information published, MailOnline’s publisher Associated Newspapers joined in a Statement in Open Court today before Mr Justice Murray (a copy of which is enclosed), expressing a full apology to Ms Van Roy. A full apology has also been published on MailOnline (see here). Speaking today, Ms Van Roy said: “The distress I suffered as a result of the publication of my identity as a complainant in a rape case cannot be overstated. I had always intended to remain anonymous in my complaint, and to have that choice taken away from me so soon after the event was almost too much to bear. To this day, many people still believe that I chose to go public myself.

  • Annual Results FY 2020/2021
Annual results FY 2020/2021 EuropaCorp recorded a positive operating profit of €3.7 million thanks to the margin on its film and TV series catalog and the continued control of overheads, which are still on a downward trend. Current income before income tax was positive at €2.9 million, excluding the €134.9 million "technical" profit linked to the equitization of the mezzanine debt in July 2020, as a result of the normalization of the financial result following this operation. After taking into account this "technical" profit and the net deferred tax charge, net income for the year was €122.7 million. These positive results are the fruit of the Group's efforts to improve its operations and financial structure. Saint-Denis, June 24, 2021 – EuropaCorp, one of the leading independent film studios in Europe, film producer and distributor, reports its annual consolidated income, which ended on March 31, 2021, as approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting on June 23, 2021. The urban renovation of Marseilles in Luc Besson’s Taxi series French Cultural Studies 2016, Vol. 27(4) 385–397 Abstract: Similar to the urban changes that occur in other post-industrial European cities, Marseilles has been going through an intense renovation process over the last twenty years. The symptoms of these changes were indicated in the action film series Taxi as early as the 1990s, when the renovation was beginning to take shape. Four films shot between the years of 1998 and 2007, written and produced by Luc Besson, reflect the urgency felt by the government and Marseillaise commerce to promote the city as the Mediterranean capital of global finance and tourism. This article first examines the process of urban renovation in Marseilles. After a brief discussion on the city’s representation in cinema, the article inquires into the film industry’s interest in post-industrial urban spaces. Finally, it explores how the Taxi series prefigures the city that the urban renovation drives for: a Marseilles rendered more attractive for investments and tourists thanks to increased security measures and distilled ethnic diversity. Keywords: Marseilles; city in cinema; urban renovation; Luc Besson; the Taxi series Word Count: 7,518 words Marseilles has been one of the European capitals of culture throughout 2013, a year abundant with Mediterranean-themed cultural events—ranging from museum openings and exhibitions to concerts, theatrical and dance performances, and street parties—that were the fruits of many years of planning, financing and construction work. The capital of culture year marks the zenith of the urban transformation plan 1 initiated in the mid-1990s by the French government, along with Marseilles’s city council and business interests.
