The largest and most magnificent of these is found in the Cathedral of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Ely. Construction of the cathedral began in 1083, and the Lady Chapel was completed in 1349. Our Lady of Sorrows The chapel is as big as a church, and was a wonder to behold with its stained glass, seemingly innumerable statues, and gloriously painted walls. It now consists only of windows with plain glass, bare walls, with every statue and bas relief either defaced or totally destroyed by the Anglican so-called reformers. The BBC is unsurpassed throughout the world for the quality of its programs on art and history. But the ending of a revolution is not the same thing as the restoration of the old order. It is the institutionalization of a new one. --David Frum, How We Got Here The Sexual Revolution and the new normal There is no series of historical events that has impacted every human living in the Western world today—and even beyond—more than the Sexual Revolution. And yet, while many are certainly familiar with the term, almost no one can explain what the Sexual Revolution is. Internet pornography, legalized abortion, the gay liberation movement, hook-up culture, contraception, public nudity, transgenderism, and threats to religious freedom are all either part of or the direct result of the Sexual Revolution. Television, the film industry, advertising agencies, academia, the media, and the music industry have all been shaped by the Sexual Revolution, and play an incessantly active role in promoting it. We are so saturated by these influences that rarely do we even notice. We simply take it for granted that this is the way things are, often without questioning how or why these things came to be. For example, consider hook-up culture on campuses, now considered the norm and lionized in dozens of stupid campus comedy films. When I was attending Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada, it was just accepted that the binge-drinking that took place was accompanied by casual sex—and if that wasn’t happening, it wasn’t for lack of effort on behalf of the students.

Strickland † INTRODUCTION On its website and in its publicity, B4U-Act defines itself as a non- profit organization based in Maryland.1 The organization purports to educate mental health professionals and society about pedophilia and to suggest therapeutic support to other “self-identified . adults and adolescents” who desire sex with children.2 B4U-Act claims its mission is to merely eliminate the “stigma” against pedophilia by removing what they call the “tremendous barriers to communication” among pedophiles, mental health professionals, and the public.3 To facilitate these ends, they hold workshops and other gatherings to allegedly promote “dialog.”4 The purpose of this paper is to give an overview and analysis of B4U-Act’s most recent gathering, a symposium entitled: “Pedophilia, Minor-Attracted Persons and the DSM.” The authors5 will argue that B4U-Act, while purporting to ffl Judith A.     Der bronzene Leib. Die FKK-Ästhetik in der Weimarer Republik MAREN MÖHRING Die Freikörperkultur hat ihre Wurzeln in der Lebensreformbewegung am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts. In diesem Kontext entstanden die ersten FKK-Vereine, die meist klein, elitär, bürgerlich geprägt und vor allem in den Großstädten im protestantischen Norden Deutschlands zu finden waren; die Vereins- wie Publikationsaktivitäten der Freikörperkultur konzentrierten sich in besonderem Maße auf Berlin. Bereits um 1900 wurde in den FKK-Zeitschriften das Ideal des schlanken, sonnenge- bräunten und durchtrainierten Körpers propagiert, das sich in den 1920er Jahren, als sich die FKK-Bewegung zu einer Massenbewegung entwi- ckelte, allgemein durchzusetzen begann. Dieses moderne Körperideal formulierte man im Rückgriff auf die Antike. Der Rekurs auf die antike griechische Statue ermöglichte es der Freikörperkultur, auch die Nackt- heit als notwendiges Ingredienz idealer Körperschönheit zu präsentieren. Das bedeutendste Instrument zur Schaffung eines schönen Körpers stell- te die Nacktgymnastik dar. Sie verstand sich als ein kontinuierliches „Nachüben“ der antiken Statuen, als „Umsatz der Kunst in das lebendige Menschenmaterial“, wie die Nacktgymnastin Bess Mensendieck 1912 in Körperkultur der Frau verkündete (Mensendieck 1912: 64f.).
