Bühne, Theke Und Der Text Dazwischen Kaiser Chiefs Mit Recht Kurzer Show Im Capitol In England ist das neue Album der Kaiser Chiefs schon ein Hit, in Deutschland muss die Band, die hier einst mit "Ruby" punktete, erst wieder ein bisschen Aufbauarbeit leisten. Rund 700 wohnten Sonntagabend der Show im Capitol in Hannover bei. Bühne, Theke und der Text dazwischen Kaiser Chiefs mit recht kurzer Show im Capitol 14. April 2014, Von: Daniel Junker, Foto(s): Daniel Junker In England steht das gerade erst erschienene Album der Kaiser Chiefs seit zwei Wochen auf Platz 1 der Charts, in Deutschland hat es „Education, Education, Education & War“ bislang noch nicht mal in die Top 100 geschafft. Engländer ticken musikalisch eben immer in bisschen anders als Deutsche. So ist es auch nicht verwunderlich, dass am Sonntag gerade einmal 700 Besucher den Weg ins Capitol gefunden haben. Die hatten allerdings ihren Spaß, genauso wie die gute gelaunte Band aus Leeds. Mit „The Factory Gates“, dem Opener des neuen Albums, legen die Kaiser Chiefs auch beim Konzert los, und schon beim zweiten Stück „Everyday I love you less and less“ vom Debüt-Album stellt sich Sänger Ricky Wilson auf die Absperrung des Bühnengrabens und singt von dort aus den Fans entgegen. Die haben viel Freude daran: Hier wird getanzt, dort werden Handy-Kameras gezückt. Wilson schleudert fleißig seinen Mikrofonständer durch die Luft, schmeißt ihn mal auf den Boden, um ihn dann kurz darauf wieder aufzuheben. Zwischendurch quatscht er mal kurz mit dem Publikum oder verschenkt Schlagzeugsticks, dann geht es schob wieder zur Sache. Mit den Songs vom neuen Album haben die Kaiser Chiefs gleich wieder einige Hits mehr auf Lager, die sich prima in den Reigen der älteren Songs einreihen. Die Band klingt sympathisch ungehobelt, der Sound ist prima, und so feiert das Publikum die Engländer gut und gerne ab. Da ist auch die Band gerne dabei: Mitten im Hit „The Angry Mob“ vom gleichnamigen zweiten 14. April 2014 1/2 © Rockszene.de 2021 Album sprintet Wilson durch die Zuschauer zu einer der seitlichen Theken, entert die Bar und bestellt sich schnell noch ein Bier. Allerdings kommt er erst einmal gar nicht dazu, das zu trinken – schließlich will der Refrain auch noch gesungen werden. Mehrmals setzt er den Becher an, doch immer wieder kommt ihm der Text dazwischen. Das Bier kann er erst nach dem Stück auf der Bühne genießen. Wilson setzt den Becher dann auch gleich so schnell an, dass ihm die Suppe das Kinn hinunter läuft. Dabei grinst er frech, dann verlässt er mit seinen Mitmusikern nach ziemlich genau einer Stunde die Bühne. Viel länger wird das Konzert auch nicht: Die Kaiser Chiefs werfen noch „Misery Company“ und zum Abschluss das energetische und gut gefeierte „Oh My God“ hinterher, dann ist das Konzert nach 75 Minuten auch schon vorbei. Etwas länger hätte der Abend ruhig dauern dürfen, Spaß gemacht hat die Show allerdings trotzdem.
