NCIS investigates all crimes involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel, regardless of rank or position. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents traverse the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties. The investigative team is lead by Special Agent Jethro Gibbs (Harmon) Silent night (12/16/08) Credits: director, Tony Wharmby ; writers, Frank Cardea, George Schenck. Cast: Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, David McCallum, Ryan Bittle, Peter Coyote. Summary: In this episode, the team investigates a murder in which fingerprints lifted from the crime scene are found to belong to Ned Quinn (Coyote) a former Navy Corpsman in Vietnam. After the war he suffered from PTSD and became a meth addict. His wife divorced him, taking full custody of their daughter. The only problem is that Quinn is supposed to have died in a fire at a homeless shelter in 1991. The team goes over Quinn’s file and service record, but nothing suggests a violent past. According to the record, Quinn left Vietnam on Dec. 30, 1972. The week before he left, another Navy corpsman was killed: Roger Lawrence Graham. If Quinn is alive, Gibbs believes he may honor Graham’s memory by visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the anniversary of that death. Staking out the Memorial, that is where the team finds Quinn and begins to unravel his involvement in the murder. c2009 J.K.M. Enterprises .

HONOREE CALIFORNIA TEACHERS ASSOCIATION ADVOCATE FOR STUDENTS AND PUBLIC EDUCATION The California Teachers Association is the state’s larg- est professional employee union, representing more than 325,000 public school teachers, counselors, psychologists, social workers, librarians, nurses and education support professionals, among others. It has become one of the nation’s strongest advocates for students and educators, and is also a leading proponent of civil rights and economic equality. CTA has been a strong supporter of living wage policies, including LAANE’s 2008 LAX hotel living wage law. CTA has won many landmark victories in its 150-year his- tory, from legislation providing free public schools and free textbooks for all of California’s children to laws banning child labor in the state. In the 1940s, the union was one of a handful of organizations to protest the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II. CTA led the critical campaign in 1988 to pass Prop. 98, the law guaranteeing minimum funding for K-12 schools and community colleges. Educators joined with parents in passing legislation to reduce class sizes in our earliest grades and led campaign efforts to pass more than $30 billion to build new schools and repair rundown facilities. CTA also played a pivotal role in defeating Gov. Schwarzeneg- ger’s 2005 ballot initiatives that would have cut school funding, undermined the due-process rights of educators and silenced the voices of public employees. Last year, CTA led the fight to pass Gov. Jerry Brown’s Proposition 30, which stopped $6 billion in education cuts to schools and colleges and will generate $47 billion for public schools, colleges and other essential services over the next seven years.

Dennis Smith directed the episode written by George Schenck and Frank Cardea. Commander Michael Dornan is recovering in the hospital after heart surgery when the nurses hear an explosion and find his charred body in bed. Gibbs, Kate, Tony, McGee, Ducky and Jimmy Palmer arrive on the scene to investigate and Ducky is shocked when faced with the unusual condition of the corpse. Ducky becomes intrigued by the female doctor who operated on Commander Dornan and he asks her out on a date. Another romance blossoms as Tony tries to rekindle his relationship with Special Agent Paula Cassidy who has also been assigned to the case. As the investigation continues, all fingers point to Junior Navy Officer Ensign Hayes (Nathan Weatherington) as the killer, when the team discovers Hayes had previously threatened Dornan’s life. The case gets more complicated when Kate shoots and kills Hayes in self-defense, realizing later that Hayes is not the killer.
