PALABRAS CLAVE: sacerdocio, don, misterio, eucaristía, caridad pastoral ABSTRACT: The author develops this paper in the form of a diptych. Firstly, he deals with the theology and priestly spirituality of John Paul II, seen throughout his char- acteristic magisterial journey. In a second moment, the author exposes, by way of synthesis, the priestly ministry that Saint John Paul II offers us. This bridges the gap between ontotheological reality and its moral development through a compelling exhortation to sanctity of life in pastoral charity. • Marian Consecration and Giving Us a 33-Day Plan to Prepare Our Souls for That Big Step
33-Day Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary Following the itinerary of Saint Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort with selections of writings from the Popes and Saints 1 Introduction Saint Louis de Montfort set forth a revolution of spirituality in teaching us about Marian consecration and giving us a 33-day plan to prepare our souls for that big step. What is this consecration? He described this consecration as being a form of “slavery” to Mary. Slavery means that we do nothing without her. We choose not to have a will apart from hers. He even invites us to wear a chain to signify that close bond with her. He elaborated the various consequences of that bond, saying that we share everything with her including our prayers, our intentions, our actions, and our merits. Fundamentally he is saying that we choose to become totally dependent on her: we receive everything through her and share everything with her. At first this sounds radical and may even sound a little scary or seem like a lot of work. As we come to understand the way the spirit of the world has infected our thinking, however, and as we get in touch with our own woundedness, we come to discover that this is a merciful gift from heaven. It is a sweet path of salvation. In fact, it is better than we could have ever hoped for! What it means is that there is a sweet, loving, perfect mother who actually wants to live in this kind of close relationship with us.

  • PRESENTATION of the COMMUNIQUÉS of the GENERAL CHAPTER 1. from January
[Translated from Original Spanish] Thy Kingdom Come! PRESENTATION OF THE COMMUNIQUÉS OF THE GENERAL CHAPTER 1. From January 8th through February 25th, 2014, the Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ took place in Rome. His Eminence, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis, CS, and his two counselors, Fr. Gianfranco Ghirlanda, SJ, and Fr. Agostino Montan, CSI, presided. Sixty- one chapter fathers participated, 19 ex officio and 42 elected by the nine territories of the congregation and the centers of Rome. 2. This Extraordinary General Chapter marks the end of the journey of in-depth revision that the congregation has travelled since the apostolic visitation, which took place during 2009- 2010, and the naming of a Pontifical Delegate in the summer of 2010. Our principal tasks in the Chapter, as Pope Benedict XVI1 indicated and as Pope Francis confirmed2, were to revise the Constitutions and to elect a new central government for the congregation. 3. In the first days, in light of the reports that the Pontifical Delegate and the pro-General Director submitted, we focused on analyzing the life of the Congregation since the ordinary General Chapter that took place in 2005. One of the outcomes of the intense exchange of ideas that took place in those days was the communiqué that the Chapter approved on January 20th, 2014, about the journey of renewal of the Congregation. This same day, the elections of the new central government took place. Once the election had been confirmed and the Holy See made the two nominations that it had reserved to itself, the elections of Fr.

Sheen Introduction HRIST Our Lord said: “Therefore every scribe who is instructed unto Cthe kingdom of heaven, is like unto a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.” This is a short collec- tion of quotations from the vast treasure house of the church, about suffering, reparation, atonement, and the cross. No matter how much you have read, you can always find something new. Christ said that he would make all things new, (Apoc. 21:5) that he would establish a new covenant, and put new wine into new bottles. We have now arrived at the newest, the most recent, the last, and perhaps the best, period of human history. “Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.” 1. St. Gertrude ERTRUDE, a holy virgin most dear to God, was once divinely taught Gthat one who is considering in his heart the image of the Crucified, ought to think he hears Jesus Christ Himself saying to him, with a gentle voice, “Behold, thou seest how for love of thee I hung upon the cross, naked, despised, My whole Body wounded, and every limb stretched.

For more information, please contact [email protected]. 20 Section 2 Definitions of the Gifts of the Spirit 21 Introduction The Bible does not define the different gifts. It uses various phrases to convey their meanings, in different contexts it shows how they are to be used and finally, it illustrates them in the lives of gifted people. In most cases all believers are expected to perform the activities (or working out)of the gifts as they learn how to do so by observing those people specifically gifted in each area. Some of the gifts are not even mentioned outside the lists given in the Scriptures. Obviously then, a definition of the gifts will require considerable interpretation and certain amplitude allowing for a variety of opinions. Some of the gifts are declared by Paul to be of a temporary nature (prophecy, knowledge, and tongues, 1 Cor 13:8), so the natural question is, when? If we can establish that those gifts had a temporary purpose in the foundation period of the Church, it is possible that there were other gifts that were not going to be permanent for the whole Church Age: apostleship, healing, interpretation of tongues and miracles.
