NIELSEN Andrea Atzeni ED WALKER, Upper Lambourn (Breeder - Bjorn Nielsen) Draw CD BF BLACK, YELLOW cap. 2 HHH Lightly raced sprinter who looked one to follow when landing two useful C&D handicaps last season; not entirely straightforward and has had to be walked to the start on last two starts, the latest 15 days ago when beaten favourite at Newmarket; that race didn’t really play out ideally and he wasn’t given a hard time; raced only on good/firmer; still has potential off this sort of mark and major player if handling the ground. Official BHA Rating 96

Official BHA Rating 96

3 COUNT D’ORSAY (IRE) (14) 4 9 5 (131) 02121-3 B g Dandy Man (IRE) - Deira (USA) (Green Desert (USA)) AMBROSE TURNBULL & JOHN CRUCES TIM EASTERBY, Malton (Breeder - Corrin Stud) Draw GREY, RED star on body and cap, RED sleeves, GREY 16 HHH Has won on good/soft; form took off for this yard in the second half of 2019, winning two 5f handicaps at Ripon and a good race at Catterick to round off his campaign; plenty of positives to take from his third at Newmarket two weeks ago (5f, good to firm) and has more races in him but 6f in a race of this nature might place too much emphasis on stamina. Official BHA Rating 96

McCullagh) Draw D LIGHT BLUE, ORANGE epaulets. 1 1 HHH 7f probably more his trip now, as when winning at Lingfield (AW) in March, but he has useful handicap form at this trip, including on good to soft, and the end-to-end gallop should suit; not sure stall 1 is a positive judged on the early races on the straight course but he might not be good enough in any case. Official BHA Rating 96

5 BLUE MIST (8) 5 9 4 (130) 4/6036-2 Ch g Makfi - Namaskar (Dansili) MR K. ABDULLAH Jason Watson ROGER CHARLTON, Beckhampton (Breeder - Juddmonte Farms (East) Ltd) Draw C BF GREEN, PINK sash and cap, WHITE sleeves. 20 HHH Both wins at 1m and has form over 1m2f but he’s a strong traveller and looked to be outstayed over 7f at Newbury on last week’s reappearance; has run well in good handicaps here too so there are positives; perhaps the type to flatter to deceive whatever the trip but no doubting he’s got the raw ability to deal with this mark; seems suited by good/good to soft. Official BHA Rating 95

6 CHIEFOFCHIEFS (114) 7 9 4 (130) 400-630 B g - Danvers (Cape Cross (IRE)) MR MERVYN AYERS CHARLIE FELLOWES, Newmarket (Breeder - Executive Bloodlines) Draw PINK, large BLACK spots and spots on cap. 15 HH Five-time winner from 1m-1m2f (turf wins on good); ran well on one occasion in Dubai earlier in the year (7f; stayed on well close home); not impossibly treated but this is a warm race for his first 6f run. O’Brien) Draw D ROYAL BLUE, WHITE hoop, striped sleeves, WHITE cap, ROYAL BLUE star. 19 H Smart 2yo, winning twice in Listed company (good/soft); has struggled since and finished tailed off at Newcastle on his reappearance 18 days ago; handicapper relenting but others have more obvious claims; refitted blinkers replace cheekpieces this time. STEWARDS NOTE: Following its run on 2/6/2020 it was reported that the horse finished slightly lame. Official BHA Rating 95

2019: NO CORRESPONDING RACE LAST YEAR

Race Summary: Count D’Orsay had APLOMB back in fifth when they made their return over 5f at Newmarket but the William Haggas-trained four-year-old, favourite that day, was taken off his feet at that inadequate distance and will be suited by a return to a trip and track where he finished a creditable second last October. His stablemate Nahaarr is dropping in trip from 7f, having run too freely over that distance on his return. Golden Apollo has proven capability in large-field cavalry charges having taken the Ayr Silver Cup (6f) last September. Magical Wish was in the rear that day but made a smart return over 7f at Lingfield in March.

Race Summary:

MORE BEAUTIFUL, a half-sister to 2,000 Guineas winner , made a striking winning debut at Naas and will surely progress. Wesley Ward has won this three times in 11 years, including with top sprinter Lady Aurelia, so his Campanelle, with Frankie Dettori on board, and Royal Approval, first and second in the same maiden at Gulfstream Park last month, have to be high on the shortlist. Pelekai and Dandalla both got off the mark first time at Newcastle, while Sandown and Newmarket scorers Happy Romance and Sacred also command respect.

Race Summary: The Mark Johnston-trained QAADER looked an outstanding prospect in a fluent Newbury 6f debut win and gets the vote here ahead over 5f Curragh winner Admiral Nelson, who represents the stable of Aidan O’Brien which has won this race nine times, including with Arizona last year. All-weather winners Thunder Of Niagara, who impressed at Newcastle, and Army Of India, who narrowly held Archie Watson’s Science after idling at Kempton, also represent Johnston’s strong team of two-year-olds. but the speedy Brian Meehan-trained 5f Lingfield scorer Talbot finished full of running and appeals more.

Race Summary: The 1,000 Guineas runner-up Cloak Of Spirits, who won well at Ascot on her two-year-old debut, faces third-placed QUADRILATERAL again and the latter is selected to gain revenge as she raced too freely at Newmarket. They are unlikely to have things all their own way as Run Wild was an emphatic winner of the Pretty Polly Stakes (1m2f) on the same Newmarket card but must now reproduce that form over this shorter 1m trip. Alpine Star had 1,000 Guineas winner Love well beaten when winning a Group 2 Curragh event last August but her stablemates Millisle and Albigna flopped in their respective Guineas quests and that tempers confidence.
