Tassel hyacinth Muscari comosum Also known as: Grape hyacinth, Leopoldia comosa Rating: 0.0 ( 0 votes) This description is for Tassel hyacinth (Muscari comosum): Once you have set eyes on muscari comosum, it is not hard to understand why it is referred to as the tassel hyacinth. Unlike others of the genus, it produces dense floral spikes populated by brown-green fertile blossoms that are not very appealing to the eye. But the sterile flowers at the top of the raceme are completely different; deep purple in colour, they arch outward from the raceme tip, like tassels – earning the plant the common name, the tassel hyacinth. Its mid-green foliage comprises dense clumps of linear, strap-shaped leaves. A favourite for rockeries, slopes and under- planting the tassel hyacinth thrives in moist but well-drained soils in full or partial sun. Pruning is not necessary, but dividing during summer is recommended. Find Tassel hyacinth in our Shop! Free shipping from € 50! Plant Environment Usage Known dangers?
