Later the distinctness of the genus Sarajana was questioned, and S. apfelbecki classified within the genus Belgrandiella. Our study on Sarajana from five localities in Bosnia and Herzegovina including Vrelo Bosne (type locality of the Sarajana apfelbecki) confirms that the morphology of the characteristic penis, as well as the female reproductive organs, with an exception of the presence of small, vestigial proximal seminal receptacle, overlooked by Radoman contradict a close relationships with Belgrandiella. Two molecular markers: mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and nuclear histone 3 (H3) were used to infer phylogeny: Sarajana was placed within the Hydrobiidae, Sadlerianinae, but far from Belgrandiella, with Graecoarganiella Falniowski et Szarowska, 2011 as a sister taxon. -

ZooKeys 77 : 1 – 16 . doi: 10.3897/ zookeys.77.935 Abstract Marstonia comalensis, a poorly known nymphophiline gastropod (originally described from Comal Creek, Texas) that has often been confused with Cincinnatia integra, is re-described and the generic placement of this species, which was recently allocated to Marstonia based on unpublished evidence, is confi rmed by anatomical study. Marstonia comalensis is a large congener having an ovate-conic, openly umbilicate shell and penis having a short fi lament and oblique, squarish lobe bearing a narrow gland along its distal edge. It is well diff erentiated morphologically from congeners having similar shells and penes and is also geneti- cally divergent relative to those congeners that have been sequenced (mtCOI divergence 3.0–8.5%). -

(type species) and L. conica (Prévost 1821) from the Middle Eocene (Lutetian) of the Upper Rhine Graben and Paris Basin, respectively. The protoconch microsculpture of L. hartkopfi n. sp. was occasionally preserved and proved to be a variant of the plesiomorphic hydrobioid pattern. The new genus is tentatively placed in Hydrobiidae. Problems in the classi- fication of hydrobioid fossils are discussed, arising from the dearth of distinguishing shell characters. Previous attributions of L. conica to Assiminea or Peringia are shown to be incorrect. The name Paludina conica Férussac 1814, a senior primary homonym of Paludina conica Prévost 1821, and denoting an unidentifiable hydrobioid, threatens the validity of the nameLutetiella conica (Prévost 1821) and should be suppressed. -

Molecular studies on their relationships confirmed the distinctness of this family. Their monophyly, however, remained doubtful, since the Moitessieriidae did not form a distinct clade in the phylogenetic tree based on the most commonly applied mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI), and the representative of the family Cochliopidae occupied a position among the moitessieriid clades. In the present paper two new nuclear loci, namely histone H3 gene and ribosomal internal transcribed spacer ITS2, have been applied to resolve the status of the Moitessieriidae. -

A few minute Belgrandiella-like gastropods were found in three springs in Georgia. Molecular markers: mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) and nuclear histone (H3) were used to infer their phylogenetic relationships. The phylogenetic trees placed them most closely to Agrafia from continental Greece. The p-distances indicated that two species occurred in the three localities. Two specimens from Andros Island (Greece) were also assigned to the genus Agrafia. The p-distances between the four taxa, most probably each representing a distinct species, were within the range of 0.026–0.043 for H3, and 0.089–0.118 for COI. In this research, phylogenetic analysis of cyto- chrome oxidase subunit I (620bp) sequences for all living species in Anatolia of Graecoanatolica were performed and phylogenetic trees were created by using data of COI sequencing. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) COI gene sequences of different genus were achieved from GenBank and used as outgroup for molecular systematic analysis. mtDNA COI sequence data analysis indicate that species determined as G. lacustristurca in Burdur is sister of G. tenuis in Denizli but it is still diffirent species. Also molecular data indicates that G. pamphylica is different molecularly from genus Graecoanatolica, which has been described into this genus and presenced in Antalya Kirkgöz spring. -

BOETERS, München* Mit Abb. 71-72 (1) Zusammenfassung Im referierten Gebiet leben folgende Hydrobiidae; Bythiospeum sp., Avenionia bre- vis, Bythinella pupoides und dunkeri, Microna lacheineri, Marstoniopsis insubrica, Hora- tia (Hauffenia) minuta, Potamopyrgus jenkinsi, Lithoglyphus naticoides und Moitessieria lineoiata; Vertreter der Gattung Belgrandia kommen nicht vor. Sämtliche Fundortsangaben der Literatur von Bythiospeum sp., Bythinella pupoides und dunkeri werden zur Veranschaulichung der Verbreitungsgebiete kartographisch aus- gewertet. In Frankreich und im referierten Gebiet ist vitrea DRAPARNAUD 1801 [Cyclostoma] der älteste Name eines Taxons der Gattung Bythiospeum. Bythinella, pupoides ist kein reiner Krenobiont; sie lebt auch in Spaltengewässern und im Grundwasser; der Verfasser sammelte sie (entgegen der Angabe von FAVRE) noch lebend am locus typicus; in einer Quelle fand er schwach pigmentierte Tiere sowie tiefer im Quellmund vollständig pigmentlose Tiere. Auch Bythinella dunkeri ist kein reiner Krenobiont; sie ist im Südosten ihres Verbrei- tungsgebiets in Spaltengewässer eingedrungen. Die seit ihrer Beschreibung verschollene Moitessieria lineolata wurde wieder gesammelt. -

Its populations are very scattered and poor in individuals. This picture was taken in the Forêt de Muracciole in Central Corsica, an occurrence which was known since the end of the 19th century, but was completely destroyed by a heavy man-made forest fire in 2000.
