Jokisch As over 76 million U.S. baby boomers prepare for retirement, Latin American countries are poised to experience increasing numbers of foreign leisure and retirement migrants. Comparatively wealthy ‘residential tourists’ from the U.S. have already transformed parts of Latin America. Meanwhile, national incentive policies, media coverage, and aggressive online marketing continue to attract international residents to an increasing number of destinations. Boquete, Panama has experienced a particularly rapid emergence as a destination, and may exemplify a new model of residential tourism development. Using qualitative data from on-site interviews, this thesis will discuss a range of issues and concerns experienced and articulated by local residents of distinct socioeconomic backgrounds. By incorporating a web-based marketing content analysis, this thesis will also argue that rapid, Internet-propelled development has attracted complex and dynamic international residents. -

CSR in Swedish football A multiple case study of four clubs in Allsvenskan By: Lina Nilsson 2018-10-09 Supervisors: Marcus Box, Lars Vigerland and Erik Borg Södertörn University | School of Social Sciences Master Thesis 30 Credits Business Administration | Spring term 2018 ABSTRACT The question of companies’ social responsibility taking, called Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has been widely debated in research since the 1900s. However, the research connecting CSR to sport was not started until the beginning of the 2000s, meaning that there are still many gaps in sport research that has to be filled. One such gap is research on CSR in a Swedish football context. Accordingly, the purpose of the study was firstly to examine how and why Swedish football clubs – organised as non-profit associations or sports corporations – work with CSR, and secondly whether or not there was a difference in the CSR work of the two organisational forms. A multiple case study of four clubs in Allsvenskan was carried out, examining the CSR work – meaning the CSR concept and activities, the motives for engaging in CSR and the role of the stakeholders – in detail. In addition, the CSR actions of all clubs of Allsvenskan were briefly investigated. The findings of the study showed that the four clubs of the multiple case study had focused their CSR concepts in different directions and performed different activities. As a consequence, they had developed different competences and competitive advantages. Furthermore, the findings suggested that the motives for engaging in CSR were a social agenda, pressure from stakeholders and financial motives. -

This figure accurately represents amounts reported to Pact for the period ending May 31, 2005. CCE Arab Civitas Quarterly Programmatic Report 1 April-June 2005 I. Executive Summary Regional During the reporting period, the Regional Office organized the first two Arab Civitas regional training workshops: a Project Citizen workshop in Cairo, Egypt, December 12-19, 2004 and a Foundations of Democracy workshop in Casablanca, Morocco January 11-19, 2005. In addition, the Board of Directors strengthened Arab Civitas’ international and inter-agency relationships by sending representatives to the Educating the Young for Active Citizenship workshop in Malaysia, the MEPI Student Leaders Conference in Tunisia, a Wilton Park Conference on building participatory governance in the Middle East, a Divided Societies Workshop in Northern Ireland on the use of civic education to address the problems of social conflict, and a childhood issues seminar in the United Arab Emirates. Within the nine Arab Civitas countries, activities ranged from fact-finding visits and in-country NGO establishment in the younger country programs to continued implementation of Project Citizen and Foundations of Democracy trainings in the more established programs. Other activities included establishing partnerships with local NGOs and ministries of education, adaptation and publication of curricular materials, and forming local committees to support civic education programs. -
