Sports Information Services Interviews All interviews should be setup through the sports information office. RSU head coaches are available throughout the week, mainly in the morning. Student-athletes are also available for interviews, typically right before or after practice. Most Hillcat teams practice between 3:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. during the week. Credential Requests for credentials to athletic events should be made at least 48 hours in advance of the event and directed to the sports information office. Spouses, dates, children and non-working media will not be given a pass or assigned a seat on press row. RSU does not provide parking passes to the media.

Gameday services RSU’s sports information office produces media guides for most sports and game notes for men’s and women’s basketball games, which include rosters, schedules and statistical leaders. Opponents are asked to supply RSU -- either via fax, email or with a link to availability on the web -- with detailed rosters, up-to-date statistics and season scores for use in our game day notes no later than a day prior to the event. Following a home event, RSU will supply all results to both home and visiting media, as requested before to the event. RSU always contacts the Claremore Progress, Tulsa World, Daily Oklahoman, and local TV and sports/news radio stations with scores and statistics (where applicable).

Local Media List RSU will email results and statistics to opponent media. Please contact the sports information office at least a day in advance of a game with media phone, email addresses and fax numbers. Opposing teams are also free to use phone and fax machines in the athletic office or sports information office. Please ask the sports information director or an athletic staff member for assistance.

Statistical services RSU uses StatCrew statistical software for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball. RSU offers live stat webcasts for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball via the Hillcat Network portal. RSU will supply visiting teams and media with complete statistics immediately following the match. Postgame, RSU will email a packed game file and box score to opposing SIDs. If coaches or opposing SIDs would like game files immediately after the game and are in attendance, please have a jump drive available and we will gladly take care of it. Style Guidelines ■In athletic media communications and publications, DO NOT use the term Lady Hillcats or Lady Cats. Hillcats, Cats, are acceptable.

■Refer to the institution as Rogers State on first mention in news releases or other communications about sports events. The words university or college are understood in such releases, and are a commonly accepted practice within athletics.

What Is A Hillcat? The university’s official mascot, the “Hillcat,” is a unique blue and red animal that serves as a source of campus pride and provides a visual identity for the university’s Athletic, Student Activities, and other school spirit programs. The Hillcat embodies the enthusiastic, determined and bold spirit of the university’s athletic programs and the pride our students and alumni feel for the institution. The “Hillcat” is a fictitious cousin of the bobcat, which is indigenous to northeast Oklahoma. The “Hillcat” also draws its name from “College Hill,” a traditional nickname for RSU. The university sits atop a hill overlooking the city of Claremore.
