ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The No. 4 Ouachita Baptist football team set a school record for wins in a season on Saturday afternoon, capping off a perfect 11-0 season with a 38-10 victory over Henderson State in the 92nd edition of the Battle of the Ravine.

The victory not only gives the Tigers a third consecutive win over Henderson State (5-6) for the first time since the 2001-2003 seasons, but it also ties the All-Time series at 43-43-6. The win gives the Tigers their second unde- feated regular season in school history.

Ouachita (11-0) once again used the ground and pound game to their advantage. The Tigers rushing offense ran for 246-yards and four touchdowns in the contest. Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) led the Tiger rushing attack with 68-yards on the day. Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) finished the afternoon with 63-yards and a team leading three touchdowns. The trio of touchdown runs gave the junior running back a team high 15 scores on the season.

Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) showed off his dual threat ability in Saturday's game. The redshirt freshman passed for 66-yards and a score. On the ground, Brazeal ran for an additional 67-yards and a rushing touchdown. All-Purpose wide receiver Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.) arguably had one of his best games of his senior season on Saturday afternoon. The senior led the team in receptions (3) and receiving yards with 26. In the backfield, Harris rushed the ball ten times for 48-yards.

Henderson State quarterback Richard Stammetti threw for 203-yards and a touchdown. The Tiger defense also forced Stammetti to throw a pair of interceptions in the game. Ben Johnson ended the day as Stammetti's top target. Johnson caught eight passes for 112-yards and a touchdown in the game.

Airric Parker (San Diego, Calif.) led a very hungry Tiger defense with eight total tackles on the day. The senior linebacker also intercepted a pass late in the fourth quarter to cement the game for the Tigers. Austin Guymon (Little Rock, Ark.) finished second on the team with seven total stops; Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) added four tackles and a pair of pass breakups.

Ouachita punter Jake Ford (Australia) had another great game for Ouachita averaging 38.5-yards on four punts. Ford pinned the Reddies back inside their own 20-yardline on three different occasions.

First Quarter: Ouachita 14, Henderson State 0 After a three-and-out by Ouachita on their opening drive, the Tigers defense knew that they needed to step up and get the ball back. On the fifth play of the drive, Henderson State running back Kody Whitaker fumbled the handoff and Tiger middle linebacker Jon Johnson (Haskell, Ark.) jumped on the loose ball, setting the Ouachita offense up with great field position.

On the first play of the drive, Oliver found a crease in the defense and sprinted 14-yards down to the Reddies 23-yardline. A few plays later, the Tigers faced a third-and-nine inside the Henderson State redzone. Brazeal not able to find an open receiver scrambled 22-yards to the endzone for the game's opening score.

A second consecutive defensive stop by the Tigers gave the ball to Ouachita with 6:54 remaining in the opening quarter. On the second play of the drive, Brazeal once again showed off his speed with a 15-yard scamper to move the chains. The Tiger drive stayed alive a few plays later thanks to a Henderson State pass interference call. A few plays later Brazeal hit Harris in stride for a 16-yard reception.

On second-and-eight the Tigers lined up at the Reddies 20-yard line, Harris took the direct snap and rushed 16-yards down to the Henderson State four-yard line. A trio of plays later and Brown crossed the goal line for his first score of the afternoon.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 24, Henderson State 7 A pair of punts by both teams opened up the second quarter of play. Henderson State started their second drive of the quarter with 10:50 left in the half. The Reddies need just four plays as Stammetti connected with Johnson for a 36-yard score, cutting the Tigers lead in half.

Ouachita immediately answered with a 10-play, 57-yard drive of their own. The Tiger offense stalled out at the Henderson State 18 after Brazeal took a sack on third down. Senior kicker Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) split the uprights with his 11th field goal of the season.

Stammetti and the Reddies offense took over with 3:32 remaining in the half. The Tigers appeared to be moving the ball reasonably well, until, Ouachita safety Hayden Lassiter stepped in front of a pass and returned the inter- ception 13-yards. A personal foul on Henderson State was called after the play and moved the ball even further into Reddie territory.

The Tigers needed just four plays to get into the endzone as Brazeal hit La'Darius McElroy (Ashdown, Ark.) at about the 10-yardline and McElroy dragged a pair of Reddie defenders into the endzone with him. The score gave the Tigers a three score lead going into the halftime break.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 24, Henderson State 10 Henderson State received the second half kickoff and promptly held onto the ball for seven minutes of game time. The Tigers played a true bend but don't break style of defense as the Ouachita defense made a goal line stand against the Reddies offense. Henderson State threw the ball three consecutive times and each time the Tigers turned them away. Henderson State kicker Temo Martinez executed a chip shot field goal to pull the Reddies back within two scores of the Tigers.

The Tigers offense went three-and-out and it appeared the Reddies were going to take advantage of tired Ouachita defense. Henderson State's drive stayed alive after Evans was called for pass interference on a third down play. Four plays later the Reddies found themselves inside the Ouachita 10-yard line as the quarter ran out.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 38, Henderson State 10 On the first play of the quarter Ouachita, defensive lineman Dameyun McDonald tackled Querale Hall for a loss of seven yards. On the second play of the quarter, Stammetti sat back in the pocket and attempted to hit Johnson in the endzone, but Evans broke up the pass to keep the Reddies out of the endzone. Martinez came on for a 27-yard field goal and missed.

Ouachita having only one offensive drive in the third quarter looked to run the clock on their first drive of the fourth quarter. On the ninth play of the drive, Brown looked to be stopped on a run up the middle, but the junior running back found an opening on the right side of the field and sprinted away for a 42-yard touchdown.

Two possessions later and Ford boomed a 40-yard punt deep into Reddie territory. On the first play of the drive Parker intercepted Stammetti at the 23-yardline and ran the ball back to the Henderson State 3-yard line. It only took one play as Brown ran the ball in for his third score of the night.

Ouachita will have to wait a day to find out whom they will host in the playoffs. For more information on the Ouachita football team be sure to follow the official social media accounts of Ouachita athletics.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Baptist football team clinched their second consecutive Great American Conference Championship with a 35-10 victory over Southern Arkansas on Saturday afternoon.

For the fourth time in eight years, the Tigers can lay claim to the Great American title. The GAC championship has only left the city of Arkadelphia once during the Great American Conference era. This is the second time in four years the Tigers have started a season 10-0, Ouachita will look to end the regular season perfect for just the second time in school history. A win over rival Henderson State next weekend will give the Tigers a school record 11 wins in a season.

The Ouachita faithful came out in full support as the defense held another opponent to just 10 points in the game. Ouachita (10-0) this season has outscored opponents 183-25 inside the confines of Cliff Harris Stadium. The Tiger defense showed why they are one of the toughest in the nation as the defensive line wreaked havoc in the Southern Arkansas (8-2) backfield all day. The Ouachita defensive line produced four sacks in the contest and sophomore linebacker Austin Guymon (Little Rock, Ark.) led the team in tackles with eight and intercepted the Tigers 17th pass of the season to close out the game.

The Tiger offense stayed true to form as they established the ground game early and often in the game. Ouachita rushed for 240 yards in the game and four of the five scores game on the ground. Junior running back Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) led the charge in the running game with 132 rushing yards and two scores. Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) added 75 yards in the contest while Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) and Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) each scored during the game. Brazeal also stayed consistent in the pocket, going 4-for-5 and throwing for 104 yards. The bulk of those 104-yards came from a 66-yard touchdown reception by Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.) in the opening quarter.

The special teams units made a big impact on the game as the Tigers were able to consistently pin the Muleriders back inside their own 20-yardline. On the opening possession of the fourth quarter, the Muleriders offense set up for a 31-yard field goal but defensive back Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) blocked the kick attempt and Tyrik Harris (England, Ark.) recovered the loose ball for the Tigers.

First Quarter: Ouachita 7, Southern Arkansas 0 Southern Arkansas won the coin toss and elected to defer until the second half. On the Tigers, first drive of the game it appeared that it was going to be a battle from start to finish as the Ouachita running backs only gained minimal yardage against a stout defensive front. On third down Brazeal threw an errant pass but a roughing the passer call gave the Tigers new life. Ouachita was able to make at all the way down to the Mulerider 35-yardline but a 9-yard sack by Kobe McDonald forced the Tigers to punt the ball away.

Jake Ford (Australia) pinned the Muleriders inside the 20-yardline to begin their opening drive. Southern Arkansas appeared to be at ease as they executed on short and medium passes all the way down the field. Standing at the Ouachita 39-yardline, defensive lineman Dameyun McDonald (Helena, Ark.) came off the edge and sacked Barrett Renner for a 10-yard loss.

Renner then stepped in and completed an 18-yard pass to put the Muleriders in third and short situation. A run by SirCharles Perkins only gained a yard on the play and set up a pivotal fourth down. The Muleriders elected to go for it and linebacker Airric Parker (San Diego, Calif.) came up with the tackle for a loss to set the tone for the Tiger defense early.

Ouachita took over with 2:44 remaining in the opening quarter and appeared to be headed toward another three and out. Then Brazeal on third down found Harris on a post route in the middle of the field and Harris took it 66-yards to the endzone for the Tigers first score of the game.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 14, Southern Arkansas 3 Southern Arkansas responded to the 66-yard strike with another long and methodical drive by their standards and made it all the way down to the Ouachita 20-yardline. Once again, the defense came up big on a third down and one play, as Evans tackled Lorenzo Alexander for a loss. This time however the Muleriders elected to take the points and converted on a 39-yard attempt.

On Ouachita's opening possession of the second quarter the offense seemed the most balance all game with a steady diet of runs and passes mixed in. Brazeal hooked up with Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) for a 16-yard gain to put the Tigers near midfield. A few plays later Oliver broke a 20-yard run and the Tigers setup inside the Muleriders redzone. Brown scored on the 12th play of the drive that elapsed six minutes in total playing time.

The Muleriders tried to score some quick and easy points in the closing moments of the second quarter but a botched snap by the center on a third down play ensured that the Muleriders would come away empty handed for the third time in the game.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 21, Southern Arkansas 3 Southern Arkansas got the ball first in the second half and was unable to get anything going. It helped that Ouachita defensive lineman Parker Witt and McDonald stormed the backfield on a third down play to back the Muleriders up inside their own five-yard line.

Jordan White narrowly avoided a safety as he kicked the ball to the Southern Arkansas 40-yardline. On the first play from scrimmage for Ouachita, Oliver broke a 24-yard run and two plays later Thomas put the Tigers up 21-3 with his first touchdown of the game.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 35, Southern Arkansas 10 Southern Arkansas appeared to be poised to grab points on a drive that lasted the last part of the third quarter and bled into the fourth quarter. The Muleriders marched the ball down all the way to the Ouachita two-yard line, but the center snapped the ball over the quarterbacks head and the Tigers pulled the momentum back into their favor. The Tiger defense forced the Muleriders to attempt a short field goal attempt, but Evans came through untouched and blocked the kick.

Two plays later Thomas broke a 74-yard run down the left side of the field giving the Tigers a first and goal at the four-yard line. After a five-yard penalty moved the Tigers back to their own eight-yard line, Brazeal ran the ball in from eight-yards out to extend the Tiger lead.

The Muleriders then marched down the field on an 8-play, 75-yard drive and scored their only touchdown of the game. A one yard run from Dennis Daniels, which brought Southern Arkansas within 18-points of the Tigers.

A failed onside kick attempt set the Ouachita offense in prime field position. The Tigers looked to run out the clock, but on a second down play from the 19-yard line, Thomas scampered in for his second score of the night. The touchdown put the nail in the coffin for the Muleriders.

Southern Arkansas put in their backup quarterback in the final moments of the game and Guymon came away with an interception that cemented the Tigers second consecutive GAC Championship.

Ouachita will travel across the street next week to face off against Henderson State in the Battle of the Ravine game. The Tigers will look to end the regular season undefeated for just the second time in school history. MONTICELLO, Ark. - The No. 4 Ouachita Tiger football team scored four touchdowns in the first half in route to a 35-10 victory over the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Saturday afternoon. Ouachita (9-0) has now won back-to-back games in the series and holds a 7-1 record against the Boll Weevils since the Great American Conference formed back in 2011. The Tigers are now 9-0 for the first time since the 2014 season. Arkansas-Monticello (4-5) becomes just the third team this season to score double-digit points against the Tigers defense. For the third consecutive week, the Ouachita offense saw a Tiger running back cross the 140-yard rushing mark in a game. This week, junior running back Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) ran for 142-yards and a score to lead the Tiger rushing attack. As a unit, Ouachita ran for 289-yards and accumulated the majority of the Tigers 370-yards of total offense. Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.), Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) and Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.) all recorded rushing touchdowns in the victory.

Brazeal also showed off his arm, passing for 81-yards and a touchdown to Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.). Brazeal also threw his first career interception on Saturday afternoon. The offensive line was stout all day Saturday, as they did not allow a sack in the contest.

On the defensive side of the ball Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) and Austin Guymon (Little Rock, Ark.), lead the defense in tackles. Evans ended the game with 10 tackles, a tackle for a loss and two pass breakups. Guymon added 9 tackles in the contest, Khairan Stafford (Newport, Ark.), Ernest Reed (El Dorado, Ark.) and Dameyun McDonald (Helena, Ark.) all were credited with at least a partial sack in the game. Hunter White (Nashville, Ark.) and Gregory Junior (Crossett, Ark.) each intercepted a pass for the first time this season.

The Ouachita pass defense continues to be one of the best as they held Monticello to under 230-yard passing. The Tigers secondary shutdown the Boll Weevils receiving corps and did not allow a receiver to cross the century mark in the game. The Ouachita defense now has 16 interceptions and 41 pass breakups on the season.

In the special team's portion of the game, Ouachita punter Jake Ford (Australia) continued his stellar season. Ford nailed four of his five punts inside the 20-yardline to keep the Boll Weevils backed up all game.

First Quarter: Ouachita 14, Arkansas-Monticello 0 Ouachita received the opening kickoff and Freeman returned the ball 27-yards to the Ouachita 32-yardline. On the first play from scrimmage senior running back Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) exploded for a 28-yard run to the Monticello 40-yardline.

Two plays later, the Tigers faced a third and long situation from the Monticello 40. Brazeal stepped back, stayed calm in the pocket, and delivered a 22-yard strike to La'Darius McElroy (Ashdown, Ark.). Three plays later Harris scampered into the endzone from six-yards out to give the Tigers the opening touchdown.

The Tiger defense had a bend but don't break attitude as they allowed the Boll Weevils to drive down the field to the Ouachita 36-yardline. Ouachita stood strong as Airric Parker (San Diego, Calif.) batted down the fourth down pass attempt.

Ouachita just needed one play on their second drive to go up by two scores. For the second time this season, Thomas found a hole in the defense and ran 60 or more yards to the endzone. The last time Thomas had a run of 60 or more yards was in the home opener against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 28, Arkansas-Monticello 0 On the Tigers first drive of the second quarter, Brazeal did something he had not done all season. The redshirt freshman quarterback threw an interception. The Boll Weevil momentum did not last long as the Ouachita defense forced the Boll Weevils into a three-and-out.

After a poor punt by Monticello the Tigers began their drive on their own 40-yardline. On the third play of the drive Thomas hit another hole and raced into the redzone. Brazeal proved that he was not afraid to throw the ball as he connected with Freeman for a 20-yard touchdown.

With 7:28, remaining in the half Ouachita began a long and methodical drive to keep the ball out of the hands of the Boll Weevil offense. On the 13th play of the drive, Brown ran the ball in from two-yards out to give the Tigers a 28-0 halftime lead.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 28, Arkansas-Monticello 0 A pair of punts by both teams began the third quarter. Ford pinned the Boll Weevils back on their own nine-yard line. Monticello quarterback Cole Sears stepped back and threw an interception right into the hands of Junior at the Monticello 43-yardline.

Unfortunately, the Tigers had the punt the ball back to the Boll Weevils. This time Ford pinned the Boll Weevils on their own four-yard line. Monticello began to move the ball a little bit and had a first-and-ten on their own 40. Sears once again stepped back to throw and this time White stepped in front of the receiver and grabbed his first interception of the season.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 35, Arkansas-Monticello 0 The Boll Weevils opened up the start of the fourth quarter with a 14-play, 76-yard drive. Once again, though the Ouachita defense was able to keep Monticello out of the endzone as the Boll Weevils settled for a 27-yard field goal.

On the Boll Weevils second drive of the quarter, Sears hit C.J. Parham for a 70-yard touchdown. The 70-yard score was the longest pass given up by the Ouachita second- ary this season.

With 4:17 remaining in the game the Ouachita offense took over on the Monticello 15-yardline. Three plays later Brazeal rushed into the endzone from 15-yards out to end the scoring for the Tigers.

Monticello attempted a last minute score but McDonald and Stafford sacked Sears on a fourth down play. The Ouachita came out in victory formation and ran out the clock.

The Ouachita football team will be back at home next weekend against nationally ranked Southern Arkansas. Kickoff will be at 1:00 p.m. in Cliff Harris Stadium. ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita senior running back Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) took a handoff with six minutes remaining in the third quarter and scampered for a five yard gain, the short run gave the Arkadelphia native the All-Time career rushing record in the Great American Conference as Ouachita costed to a 41-0 victory over Southern Nazarene.

Oliver carried the ball 28 times for a season high 151 yards. The senior also added a pair of touchdowns on the night, pushing his season total to eight. Oliver also holds the GAC record for 100-yard rushing games with 16 in his career. This is the second consecutive week No. 4 Ouachita (8-0) has had a running back cross the 150 yard rushing threshold.

The Tigers offense dominated every aspect of the game against Southern Nazarene (1-7). Ouachita collected 27 first downs in the game and held the Crimson Storm to just six in the contest. For just the second time this season the Ouachita offense out gained their opponent in both the rushing and passing game. The Tigers rushed for 271 yards and scored four touchdowns as a team, through the air Ouachita passed for 170 yards and a score.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) showed his dual threat ability on Thursday night. The Natural State native passed for 133 yards and a score and added 59 yards rushing on the ground. Backup quarterback Caleb Sallisbury (Van Buren, Ark.) came in during the fourth quarter and ran for a pair of touch- downs in the period.

Senior wide receiver La'Darius McElroy took advantage of his matchup on the field recording three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown. Slot receiver Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) added to his team leading reception total with three catches on the night for 27 yards.

The Ouachita defense flexed their muscles on Southern Nazarene as they finished off their second shutout of the season. This is the first season since the turn of the- cen tury that the Tigers have recorded two shutouts in the same season. The Tigers defense has held opponents to under 10 points on five different occasions this year.

Interceptions have been the calling card for the Ouachita defense this season. Coming into the game on Thursday night the Tigers had recorded 14 interceptions and 32 pass breakups. The Tigers had their opportunities to add to the total but saw both passes fall off the fingertips of Ouachita defenders. The Tigers made up for it with hard-hitting plays late in the fourth quarter as the defense forced a pair of fumbles to close out the game.

First Quarter: Ouachita 7, Southern Nazarene 0 After a pair of three-and-outs by each team's offense, Ouachita took over on their own 23-yardline with 10:59 remaining in the opening quarter. On the second play of the drive, Brazeal scampered ahead for a 12-yard rush, putting the ball at the Tiger 40-yard line. Two plays later, the Tigers avoided disaster by jumping on a fumbled handoff.

Facing a third-and-14 Ouachita appeared that they would be forced to punt the ball for a second consecutive drive. Brazeal was flushed out of the pocket and raced ahead for a 40-yard gain and a first down inside the Southern Nazarene 24-yardline. Two plays later Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) 17-yards inside the Crimson Storm 10-yardline. Oliver ran the ball in from nine-yards out to give the Tigers their first score of the night.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 14, Southern Nazarene 0 Oliver opened up the Tigers first drive of the second quarter with a 10-yard run to the Ouachita 24-yardline. Five plays later Brazeal connected with Freeman for a 29- yard gain on a third down to keep the drive alive. Facing their second third down of the drive, Brazeal found McElroy in the endzone for the Tigers second score of the night.

After the score, neither team was able to get into a rhythm offensively as the Tigers went into the halftime break up 14-0.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 20, Southern Nazarene 0 The Ouachita defense forced a quick three-and-out and the offense began on their own 25-yard line with 13:09 remaining in the quarter. A steady dose of Oliver proved to be lethal for the Crimson Storm offense as the Arkadelphia native touched the ball seven times during the drive. Ouachita moved the ball all the way down to the Southern Nazarene 22-yardline. The Tigers were forced to try a field goal after an incomplete pass on third down. Senior kicker Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) nailed the 39- yard field goal with 8:35 remaining in the quarter.

On the Tigers, second drive of the quarter they used the same formula as the first. A steady diet of Oliver proved to be productive as the senior broke the GAC career rushing record during the drive. Once again Ouachita held the ball inside the Crimson Storm 10-yardline but had to settle for an Antley field goal.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 41, Southern Nazarene 0 On the first drive of the fourth quarter, Oliver proved that he would not be denied the endzone. The senior running back touched the ball five times on seven plays and pushed the Tigers lead to 27 points with 11 minutes remaining in the game.

On the second play of the Southern Nazarene drive, senior linebacker Parker Witt (Dardenelle, Ark.) completely manhandled Gage Porter for a seven-yard loss. Two plays later and the Tigers forced the Crimson Storm to punt once again. The punt by Crimson Storm punter Ryan Reid only traveled 24-yards as the Tigers setup with great field position.

The Tigers only needed four plays to score another fourth quarter touchdown. Sallisbury found Hayden Waller (Weatherford, Texas) for a 33-yard completion to set up the Tigers with a first-and-goal from the one-yard line. Sallisbury ran the ball in on the next play to give the Tigers a commanding 34-0 advantage.

Before Tiger fans could even take a seat the special teams came through with one of the biggest plays of the night. Caleb Porchia (Texarkana, Texas) lit up Brandon Perez on the return and CJ Heckard (Wisner, La.) fell on the loose ball. Two plays later and Sallisbury had found the back of the endzone for a second time in two minutes.

Southern Nazarene took over with 5:20 remaining in the game and put together their best drive of the game. The Crimson Storm had multiple first downs during the drive. On the ninth play of the freshman defensive lineman Hunter Swoboda (Bentonville, Ark.) forced the ball loose and Justin Dean (Mena, Ark.) fell on the loose ball for the Tigers. Ouachita finished the game in victory formation as they collected their eighth consecutive win of the season. The Tiger football team will be back on the road next Saturday against the University of Arkansas at Monticello. For all the latest news on Ouachita football head over to obutigers.com.

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) ran for 187 yards and three touchdowns in the opening quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game as the No. 5/6 Ouachita Tiger football team literally steam rolled over Oklahoma Baptist 58-21 on Saturday afternoon.

Ouachita (7-0) dominated every aspect of the football game especially on the offensive side of the ball. The Tigers torched the Bison for 454 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Brown by himself out rushed the entire Oklahoma Baptist (2-5) team by 59 yards, on top of that his three touchdowns matched the Bison's complete game total. Brown now has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Seven different Tigers rushed the ball on the day. Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) finished the game with 92 rushing yards on 13 attempts, freshman TJ Cole (Texarkana, Texas) ran for 61 yards and his second career touchdown. Quarterbacks Caleb Sallisbury (Van Buren, Ark.) and Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) each had 30 or more rushing yards and Brazeal added a rushing touchdown as well. Running backs Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) and Barry Bennett (Tifton, Ga.) rounded out the carries for the Tigers, Bennett scored his first touchdown of the season late in third quarter.

The Tigers also showed that they had a passing attack this afternoon, with Ouachita quarterbacks completing all 11 throws for 108 yards. Brazeal had his first multi-touchdown game through the air on Saturday afternoon. It was the first passing touchdown for the Tiger offense since week one against Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Eight different Tigers caught passes on Saturday afternoon. Senior wide receivers Lamar Haynes (Jonesboro, Ark.) and La'Darius McElroy (Ashdown, Ark.) each had touchdown receptions. While leading wide receiver Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) hauled in a pair catches.

Oklahoma Baptist quarterback Preston Haire managed to pass for 236 yards in the contest, but Zack Curry (Nashville, Tenn.), Dillion Scott (Arkadelphia, Ark.) and Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) each got an interception in the contest. The Ouachita defense now has 14 interceptions on the season and 32 pass break ups. Tevin Jones (Jonesboro, Ark.), Hunter White (Nashville, Ark.) and Airric Parker (San Diego, Calif.) tied for the team lead in tackles with six. Freshman linebacker Tommy Crumpton (Little Rock, Ark.) led the team with a sack and a half in the game.

On special teams Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) connected on his lone field goal of the afternoon. The senior kicker also had five touchbacks on 10 kickoff attempts. Freeman returned his only punt of the day for 30 yards and Thomas and three kickoff returns for 55 yards.

With the victory on Saturday, Ouachita is now 6-2-1 All-Time against Oklahoma Baptist and the Tigers are currently riding a five game winning streak in the series. Oklahoma Baptist will have to wait another season to try and end their 79-year winless drought against the Tigers.

Ouachita currently sits alone at the top of the Great American Conference standings after Southern Arkansas fell 21-0 to Southeastern Oklahoma State.

First Quarter: Ouachita 24, Oklahoma Baptist 0 On the first offensive play of the game, Oliver took the handoff from Brazeal and scampered 41 yards to the Oklahoma Baptist 29-yard line. A penalty and a failed third down conversion brought the Tigers special teams unit out onto the field. Antley easily connected on his 43-yard attempt and Ouachita had an early 3-0 lead.

The Ouachita defense stepped up and forced a quick three-and-out. The Ouachita offense began their second drive of the afternoon with 11:46 to go in the opening -quar ter. On the second play of the drive Brown sprinted ahead for a 36-yard gain, down to the Bison 15-yard line. This time the Tiger offense would not be denied as Brown rumbled into the endzone three plays later.

The Tiger defense forced another three-and-out and the offense was once again set up with great field position. Brown lined up in the backfield on a third down play and blew past the Bison defense in route to a 50-yard touchdown run.

Down 17-0 Oklahoma Baptist began to click on offense during their third drive of the afternoon. The Bison marched the ball down inside the Ouachita 10-yard line, but Evans made sure that's as far as they would go. On the 12th play of the drive Evans intercepted his fourth interception of the season.

The Tiger offense setup shop at their own 23-yard line and seemed content to run the ball with only a 1:37 remaining in the quarter. On the third play of the drive Brown exploded for a 68-yard touchdown run, to give the Tigers a 24-0 lead after a single quarter of play. The 68-yard run was the longest rushing touchdown of Brown's career.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 38, Oklahoma Baptist 7 Oklahoma Baptist got the ball to start the second quarter of play. Once again the Bison appeared to be clicking and worked their way back into the Tigers redzone. A pair of incomplete passes forced the Bison to turn to their special team's units. Luke Wendl lined up for the 41-yard field goal and he clanked it off the right upright.

Ouachita decided to burn some clock on their fifth possession of the afternoon. On the third play of the drive Brazeal showed off his running ability with a 20-yard -scam per to the Ouachita 49-yard line. On the second third down of the drive Brown received the handoff to Brazeal and busted another 25-yard run down to the Oklahoma Baptist 18-yard line. A few plays later and Brazeal ran the ball in from 14-yards out to give the Tigers 31-0 lead on Oklahoma Baptist.

With under five minutes remaining in the half Oklahoma Baptist faced a third down on the Tigers 40-yard line. Tyler Stuever found a hole in the Ouachita defense and the ran the ball in for the Bison's first score of the game.

The Tiger offense immediately responded on their next possession. On the second play of the drive Thomas gashed the defense for a 16-yard gain. A few plays later Brazeal connected with McElroy for the Tigers first passing touchdown of the afternoon.

The half ended with Ouachita leading 38-7 at the halftime break.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 58, Oklahoma Baptist 14 The Ouachita defense forced the Bison to go three-and-out on their opening drive of the second half. A 30-yard punt return by Freeman set the Tigers up with a golden opportunity from the Bison 37-yard line. On the second play of the drive, Brazeal connected with Haynes for his second passing touchdown of the game and his third score overall.

Oklahoma Baptist once again appeared to have the makings of a decent drive, but defensive lineman Zack Curry put an end to it with an interception on the fourth play of the drive.

With 8:51 to go in the quarter Oklahoma Baptist called a timeout as Ouachita faced their first fourth down of the afternoon. The Tigers elected to go for it as freshman running back TJ Cole burst through the Bison defense for a 33-yard gain. Cole finished off the drive on the next play with a two-yard touchdown run.

The Ouachita defense smelled blood as they looked to finish off their prey. Dillion Scott intercepted the ball and ran it back 37-yards to the Bison's three-yard line. -Ben nett pounded the ball in one play later and the Tigers held a 58-7 lead over the Bison.

Oklahoma Baptist took over with 7:10 remaining in the quarter. The Bison worked their way methodically down the field and scored in seven plays.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 58, Oklahoma Baptist 21 At this point in the game it was a foregone conclusion that the Tigers would walk away with the victory. Oklahoma Baptist scored a touchdown on an 11-play drive but that did not make much of a dent in the deficit they faced.

Ouachita took over with 9:15 left in the game and the Tigers ran 14-plays to run the clock out. The victory gives the Tigers seven on the season and it is their first 7-0 start since the 2014 season.

The Tigers will have a short turnaround this week as they host Southern Nazarene on Thursday evening at Cliff Harris Stadium. SEARCY, Ark. - The game came down to a fourth and goal play at the Ouachita five-yard line. Harding quarterback Preston Paden rolled out of the pocket looking for Bobby Green in the back of the endzone and over shot, the wide receiver as No. 6/7 Ouachita escaped with a 7-3 victory over No. 19/15 Harding.

Ouachita is now 6-0 for the first time since the 2014 season and it is the third time this decade the team has accomplished this feat. This was the lowest scoring game involving a Harding (4-2) team since the 1989 season.

The last time Ouachita won a game with only one touchdown on the scoreboard was back in 1993 when the Tigers defeated both Southwest Baptist and Northwestern Oklahoma State 7-0 to open up the season. Harding also snapped the Tigers 94 game double-digit scoring streak.

Jon Johnson (Haskell, Ark.) and Dameyun McDonald (Helena, Ark.) anchored a defense that shutdown the No. 1 rushing offense in the nation on Saturday night. It was the Bisons first game without a rushing touchdown since a 2016 playoff game against Northwest Missouri State.

For the first time all season the Ouachita offense was held under 200 yards of total offense. The Tigers rushing attack of Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.), Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) and Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) accumulated 106 of the teams 110 total rushing yards. Thomas also gave the Tigers their only score of the night.

Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.) stepped in at quarterback for an injured Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) and threw for 60-yards in the game. Harris himself was coming off an injury and it was his first time playing quarterback since his junior year of high school.

Sophomore punter Jake Ford (Australia) might be the team MVP tonight after a seven-punt performance. Ford averaged 43.6 yards per punt, with a long of 50 yards and one punt was placed inside the 20-yardline.

First Quarter: Ouachita 0, Harding 0 The first quarter saw the two powerhouses feeling each other out like a pair of heavy weight champions going at it. The two battled for field position as there was just 67 total yards of offense combined between Ouachita and Harding. Meanwhile, the punters were doing a great job of pinning the other team back as both punters averaged 42 yards a kick.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 0, Harding 3 With 4:22 remaining in the opening quarter of play, Harding started one of their longest drives of the night. The drive continued into the opening minutes of the second quarter and when it was all set and done the Bisons had gone on a 16-play 76-yard drive. The bend but don't break defense worked to perfection for Ouachita as they forced Harding to take a field goal.

The Tigers ended up punting on every drive in the second quarter. Harding took over on their own 47-yardline with 29 seconds remaining in the half. The Bisons made it as far as the Ouachita 33 before they brought out the field goal team with eight seconds remaining in the half. Harding kicker Cameron Scott missed a 51-yard attempt and that seemed to give Ouachita some of the momentum back.

Going into halftime Ouachita had only possessed the ball for 8:54 of the entire first half. Ford averaged 44-yards per punt, while the Tiger offense accumulated just 44 total yards in the entire first half.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 0, Harding 3 Harding received the second half kick-off and went on long methodical drive in an attempt to keep the ball away from Ouachita. The Bison executed 13 plays in a row and were knocking on the goal line, on the 14th play of drive the Tigers defense knocked the ball out and recovered the fumble. The Bison took 8:15 off the clock before Ouachita even touched the ball. The defensive stop gave the Tigers the momentum boost they were hoping for.

Ouachita took over at the five-yard line and began what appeared to be a positive drive. A penalty and a botched snap later had the Tigers facing a second-and-28. Ford went out for his seventh punt of the night and boomed another punt down the field.

Fourth Quarter: The Tigers forced a punt at the start of the fourth quarter and began the drive at their own 15-yardline. Brown began the drive with a 26-yard run up the sideline to set the Tigers up on their own 41-yardline. Moments later Harris found wide receiver La'Darius McElroy (Ashdown, Ark.) for a 24-yard gain and inside the redzone for the first time in the game. On the next play, Thomas exploded down the right side of the field for the Tigers only score of the game.

Harding got the ball back for their second drive of the half with 9:22 remaining in the final quarter of action. The Bisons looked determined as they picked up three-to- five yards on almost every carry. The Tiger defense clamped down and appeared to have the Bisons stopped, but Matt Fuller broke a 16-yard run on fourth down to keep the drive alive. With under two minutes to go in the game the Ouachita defense was backed up deep in their own territory. Harding had four chances starting at the eight-yard line. On second and goal, Cole Chancey ran up the middle for a six-yard gain, putting the Bisons just a single yard away from the go-ahead touchdown. With 1:20, remaining in the game one of the biggest moments of the game happened. Paden attempted a quarterback sneak but was met by Johnson at the line of scrimmage and was unable to break the goal line plain with the nose of the football.

On fourth and goal, Harding pounded the ball in and it appeared the Bisons had won, but a flag was thrown for illegal motion giving the Tigers one more chance to stop Harding with 28 seconds remaining in the game. Paden rolled to his right but the Tigers top ranked secondary had every receiver covered and forced Paden to throw the ball out of the endzone.

The Tigers were able to go into victory formation for the fifth time this season as they watched the final seconds tick off the clock. Ouachita brought home the Traveling Trophy for the first time in three years and it is the second rivalry trophy the Tigers have captured this season.

Ouachita will be on the road again next week against Oklahoma Baptist. Kick-off for next weekend's game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Brazeal passed for 116 yards and ran for an additional 88 yards in the contest. Brazeal's favorite targets this afternoon were Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) and La'Darius McElroy (Ashdown, Ark.) both ended the game with 50 or more receiving yards.

Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) led the Tigers in rushing once again. The senior crossed the 100-yard threshold for the third time this season and scored his first touch- down since week two against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Junior running backs Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) and Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) ran the ball for positive yardage in the game.

Arkansas Tech (2-3) had a three-headed monster on the offensive side of the ball. Starting quarterback Carter Burcham threw for 325 yards but was intercepted by the Tigers on three different occasions. Running back Bryan Allen picked up 104-yards on the ground, while Terrez Hampton led the receiving core with seven receptions for 130 yards. First Quarter: Ouachita 0, Arkansas Tech 0 In the opening quarter of play, the two teams battled and fought for every yard they could get. Both squads had promising drives that ended in punts or were derailed by penalties.

The key play of the first quarter came with three minutes left in the opening stanza. The Wonder Boys had just completed a 24-yard pass and found themselves inside Ouachita territory for the first time. It did not last long as Evans intercepted his first pass of the afternoon and set the Tigers up with positive field position.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 10, Arkansas Tech 0 With 11:37 remaining in the quarter, the two teams were still scoreless. Backed up on their own 17-yardline Ouachita had long field ahead of them. Oliver broke off runs of 21 and 13 yards to set the Tigers up with a first-and-ten inside Arkansas Tech Territory. A few moments later Ouachita faced a third-and-long situation, Brazeal found McElroy for a 20-yard hookup and the Tigers set up shop at the Arkansas Tech one-yard line. Two plays later and Oliver found his way into the endzone for the first time in two weeks.

Up 7-0, Ouachita got the ball back with 2:47 left to go in the half. On the third play of the drive, Brazeal found McElroy for the second time in the game, this time it was 32-yard connection that gave Ouachita possession on the Arkansas Tech side of the 50. The Tigers called timeout with 48 seconds left to go in the half and called on senior kicker Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) to attempt a 45-yard field goal. The senior nailed the kick and gave the Tigers a 10-0 advantage going into halftime. The 45-yard field goal was also the longest of the season for Antley.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 10, Arkansas Tech 0 The Wonder Boys opened the second half with the ball and began a 10-play drive down the field. Arkansas Tech marched down the field and found themselves inside the redzone for the first time all day. The Tiger defense stood strong and forced the Wonder Boys to attempt a field goal attempt. Arkansas Tech kicker Carson French missed a 38-yard field goal wide left and the Wonder Boys empty handed.

The two teams then traded punts for the rest of the quarter as Ouachita held onto a 10-0 lead going into the final frame.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 24, Arkansas Tech 7 With 10:30, remaining in the game Arkansas Tech found themselves backed up on their own eight-yard line and facing a third-and-twelve. Burcham then connected with Hampton for a massive 67-yard gain. Three players later and Tanner Gaines found the endzone from two-yards out.

After a quick three-and-out by Ouachita the Wonder Boys took over at their own 30-yardline. Burcham dropped back to pass on a second-and-20 play, Lassiter read the play the whole way and intercepted the ball. Lassiter ran the interception back inside the Arkansas Tech ten-yard line.

Two plays later and Brown punched the ball in for his seventh score of the season. The score gave the Tigers a 17-7 lead late in the fourth quarter.

Arkansas Tech got the ball back with 6:11 left to go in the game. The Tigers defense was unable to get the Tech offense off the field as they converted two consecutive third down plays. The second third down conversion put the Wonder Boys at the Ouachita 10-yard line.

The Wonder Boys appeared to be in good shape to come away with some points, with a third-and-goal opportunity on the five-yard line. Then the play of the game happened, Burcham dropped back to pass and threw the ball straight into the hands of Evans. Evans wisely took the ball out of the endzone and ran it all the way back, 103-yards to be exact, for a Tigers touchdown. The defensive score gave the Tigers a 24-7 advantage late in the game.

Arkansas Tech got the ball back with 3:13 to play in the game. The Wonder Boys marched it down the field but Ernest Reed (El Dorado, Ark.) came away with the game ending sack as time expired.

Next week the Tigers face their toughest road test yet with a trip to Searcy against nationally ranked Harding. For more information on the Ouachita football team head over to obutigers.com.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Brockton Brown scored three touchdowns in route to a 42-0 victory for Ouachita on Saturday night at Cliff Harris Stadium against the .

For Ouachita they begin the season 4-0 in for the first time since the 2014 season, the win also gives Ouachita a sixth consecutive victory over East Central (1-3). The 42-point win is the largest in series history between the two schools and it was Ouachita's first shutout victory since week two of the 2012 season.

The Tigers offense dominated nearly every statistical category in the box score. Ouachita rushed for a season high 343 yards on 60 attempts. Ouachita also out threw East Central with 68 total yards through the air. The Ouachita offense ran 70 plays for 411 total yards and dominated the time of posses- sion, holding the ball for 37 minutes of game action.

In two games at home this season, Ouachita is averaging 41.5 points per game and is averaging 336 rushing yards per game and 422 yards of total offense. Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) had another efficient day under center. The redshirt freshman completed eight of his 10 passes for 68 yards. Brazeal also ran the ball for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Senior running back Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) led the offense in both rushing and receiving yards. Oliver averaged 12.7 yards a carry for 76 total yards and he hauled in a reception for 33 yards.

Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.), TJ Cole (Texarkana, Texas) and Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) each crossed the 60-yard rushing threshold in the game. All three players found the endzone as the Tigers scored six touchdowns on the ground.

First Quarter: Ouachita 7, East Central 0 The Ouachita defense set the tone early as middle linebacker Jon Johnson (Haskell, Ark.) intercepted Rayjohn Austin Ramsey on the third play of the game.

Ouachita took over with the ball on the East Central 39-yardline. Ouachita elected to go on fourth down from the East Central 24-yardline. Brazeal scrambled 17-yards down to the East Central seven. Two plays later Brown ran the ball in from six-yards out to give Ouachita the early lead.

The touchdown proved to be the only score of the quarter as both teams traded punts the rest of the way.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 28, East Central 0 Ouachita started first drive of the second quarter on their own 48-yardline. On what appeared to be another three-and-out looming for the Tigers, Brazeal found Oliver down the seam of the field for a 33-yard gain. Four plays later and Brazeal ran into the endzone from 17-yards out to give the Tigers a 14-0 advantage.

On Ouachita's second drive of the quarter the Tigers started on the East Central 38-yardline. Despite an errant snap going over Brown's head on first- and-goal, Brown was still able to rumble into the endzone two plays later.

Up 21-0, Ouachita gained possession of the ball with 3:41 to go in the first half. Oliver took the handoff and raced 29 yards into East Central territory. After an East Central timeout, Thomas broke a 22-yard run and was stopped on the one-yardline. One play later Thomas found the endzone for his only score of the night.

Ouachita defensive back Jonathan Harris (Pine Bluff, Ark.) capped off an aggressive opening half by the Ouachita defense, with an interception with eight seconds to go in the half.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 42, East Central 0 Ouachita received the second half kickoff and Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) returned the ball 37-yards to give the Tigers great field position. Five plays later and Brown found the endzone for the third time in the game, this time it was a 35-yard touchdown run by the junior.

Ouachita and East Central traded punts for the majority of the quarter. With 1:25, left in the quarter the Tigers had the ball at the East Central 47. Three rushes by Cole later and the Tigers had scored their sixth rushing touchdown of the night. The score was also the first career touchdown for Cole.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 42, East Central 0 Neither team put points on the board in the final quarter of play. Both teams gave younger players game reps as the two teams took turns running out the clock.

Next week Ouachita will face their first opponent from the Natural State in Arkansas Tech. Ouachita and Arkansas Tech will kick-off Homecoming festivities with a noon start at Cliff Harris Stadium next Saturday.

DURANT, Okla. – The No.14/15 Ouachita football team scored 18 unanswered points against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday night, pick- ing up their third victory of the season 32-16.

With the victory, Ouachita improves to 3-0 for the first time since the 2014 season. The Tigers also hit the magic number tonight; Ouachita is now 12-4 all-time against Southeastern Oklahoma State (1-2, 1-2 GAC) when scoring 30 or more points.

The Tigers defense game up with stop-after-stop to keep Ouachita in the game. The defense was on the field for 80 plays tonight but produced four interceptions a possible program record in the Division II era.

The Ouachita offense ended the game with 383 yards of total offense, with the bulk of the yards coming from the Tigers explosive running attack. Ouachita accumulated 275 yards along the ground and quarterback Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) led the team with 136 yards and a score. Junior running back Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) finished second on the team with 114 yards.

For the second straight year, the Ouachita quarterback was the top offensive threat in the game. Last season Austin Warford had 316 yards of total offense against the Savage Storm; tonight it was Brazeal who produced a career high 244 yards of total offense.

Airric Parker (San Diego, Calif.) and Dameyun McDonald (Helena, Ark.) lead the defense in tackles with 12 and 10 respectively. Parker and Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) led the no-fly zone defense that produced four interceptions and 12 pass breakups on the night.

Tonight the special teams also played a key part for the Tigers. Senior kicker Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) connected on his only field goal of the night, a 37-yarder in the fourth quarter. Sophomore punter Jake Ford (Australia) boomed a total of five punts on the night for an average of 39.4 yards and three found their way inside the 20-yardline.

First Quarter: Ouachita 7, Southeastern Oklahoma State 7 For the first time all season, the opponents scored first in a game against the Tigers. Southeastern Oklahoma State opened the game on an 11 play, 77- yard drive that was capped off by a Kenneth Burks one-yard touchdown run.

After an eight-play drive ended for the Tigers on a punt, the Ouachita defense took the game into their hands. Parker intercepted the pass at the South- eastern three-yard line and ran into the end zone to tie the game at seven.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 14, Southeastern Oklahoma State 10 After several stalled drives by both teams that resulted in punts, the Tigers took possession of the ball at the Ouachita 42-yardline with 7:10 remaining in the half. A 38-yard reception by Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.) on the third play of the drive, set the Tigers up on the Southeastern 18-yardline. One snap later and Brazeal scampered into the end zone for his first career-rushing touchdown. The touchdown gave the Tigers a 14-7 advantage with 5:47 remaining in the first half of play.

Southeastern Oklahoma State then went on a methodical 11-play, 69 yard drive. The Tigers defense stood strong in the red zone and forced the Savage Storm to kick one of their three field goals of the night.

Brazeal on the first play of the drive fumbled the ball after a four-yard run. It did not hurt the Tigers however, as linebacker, Jon Johnson (Haskell, Ark.) intercepted the Savage Storm for the second time in the game. Ouachita ran out the clock to go into the half with the lead.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 14, Southeastern Oklahoma State 16 The Tigers offense had a very forgettable third quarter; it was the only quarter in which Ouachita failed to score.

Meanwhile, the defense played a bend but don't break style of defense during the quarter. Southeastern went on two drives that lasted 10 and 13 plays, but both times the defense stepped up to the challenge and forces the Savage Storm to a pair of field goals.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 32, Southeastern Oklahoma State 16 The final quarter of play was all Ouachita; the Tigers defense blanked the Savage Storm in the final frame.

With 12:16 remaining in the game, the Tigers offense took over with the ball on their own 46-yard line. Brazeal rushed for a total of 43-yards on the drive and Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) rumbled in from three-yards out to give the Tigers the lead.

On the next series, Brown scored his second touchdown of the night, capping off a 9-play, 60 yard drive that took four minutes off the clock. Austin Guymon intercepted Southeastern on the first play of their next series and gave the ball back to the Tigers offense in the red zone.

Antley booted a 37-yard field goal through the uprights to give the Tigers a commanding 32-16 advantage with only three minutes to play in the game. The Savage Storm tried to get something going but Evans intercepted the ball at the 50-yard line to end any threat of a Southeastern comeback.

For the third consecutive game, the Tigers ran the victory formation to run out the clock. Ouachita will be back at home next weekend against . The Tigers will be looking to go 4-0 for the first time since the 2014 campaign.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – On a warm and rainy night at Cliff Harris Stadium the No. 19/20 Ouachita Tigers pounded out 323 rushing yards against Southwestern Oklaho- ma State in a 41-8 pounding.

With the victory, Ouachita (2-0, 2-0 GAC) has now hoisted the Paul Sharp Trophy for three consecutive seasons. The Tigers also improve to 11-4 all-time against Southwestern Oklahoma State (1-1, 1-1 GAC) and Ouachita now holds a 7-1 mark in the Great American Conference era. The 33-point victory on Saturday night ties the largest Ouachita victory in series history.

Senior running back Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.) lead a potent Tiger rushing attack. The Natural State native rumbled for a season high 127 yards and three scores on the night. Junior running back Shun'cee Thomas (Bossier City, La.) complemented Olivers pounding attack with a little bit of speed. Thomas carried the ball just four times in the game, but midway through the second quarter the Bossier City product broke free for a 61-yard touchdown run. Brockton Brown (Sheridan, Ark.) rounded out the touchdown runs with a three-yard score late in the game.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Brayden Brazeal (England, Ark.) had another quality outing completing 61 percent of his passes for 110 yards. Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.) was Brazeal's go to guy as he hauled in five receptions for 39-yards.

Special teams once again played an important role in the Tigers win, as they were able to flip the field position on multiple occasions. Jake Ford (Australia) punted the ball four times for an average of 33.8 yards and two of his punts landed inside the 20-yardline. Senior kicker Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) connected on both of his field goal attempts and averaged 63-yards per kickoff in the game.

The Tigers defensive front played in the Bulldogs backfield all night as they brought Casey Freeman down five times during the game. In week one Freeman threw for 416 yards, this week the Tigers limited the talented quarterback to just 104 yards passing and Hayden Lassiter (Warren, Ark.) picked off a pass.

First Quarter: Ouachita 14, Southwestern Oklahoma State 0 After a quick three-and-out by Southwestern Oklahoma State to begin the game, the Tigers offense took over on their own 12-yard line. Ouachita then went on a -me thodical 15 play, 88-yard scoring drive to open the game.

The Tigers defense showed that they were hungry from the start as Khairan Stafford (Newport, Ark.) and Shimorye Hampton (Shreveport, La.) each sacked Freeman on back-to-back plays to force the Bulldogs into another punting situation.

Ouachita did not wait long to score their second touchdown of the game, as Oliver took the handoff on the first play of the drive and raced to the endzone for a 52-yard score.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 31, Southwestern Oklahoma State 0 The Tigers offense began the second quarter in opponents territory as they stood just nine yards away from the endzone. Ouachita was unable to score a touchdown but Antley connected on his first of two field goals on the night.

Southwestern Oklahoma State began to work the ball down field and it appeared that they were getting into a rhythm, but back-to-back incomplete passes stalled one of their longest drives of the game.

Two plays later and the Tigers offense found the endzone again, this time it was a 61-yard touchdown run by Thomas. After a series of back-to-back punts by each team, Ouachita took over with 2:27 remaining in the half on the Bulldogs 30-yardline. Two plays later and Oliver had found his way into the endzone for his third score of the half.

Southwestern Oklahoma State tried to respond to the offensive outpouring by Ouachita, but the Tigers defense made sure that would not happen. Lassiter intercepted the ball in the endzone to put an end to a potential scoring drive by the Bulldogs.

Third Quarter: Ouachita 41, Southwestern Oklahoma State 0 Ouachita opened up the second half on a nine-play scoring drive. After an incomplete pass in the endzone was knocked away by a Bulldog defender, Antley came out for his second field goal of the night. The Peach State native cleared the uprights for the second time in the game and extended the Tigers lead to 34-0.

With 6:09 remaining in the quarter Brown became the primary runner on the drive as he rumbled for a total of 35 yards and a touchdown.

Fourth Quarter: Ouachita 41, Southwestern Oklahoma State 8 Southwestern Oklahoma State broke up the shutout bid by the Ouachita defense at the start of the final quarter. Freeman found JR Omigie in the back of the endzone for the Bulldogs first score of the evening. The Bulldogs converted on the two-point attempt but still faced an uphill climb.

The rest of the quarter, both teams decided to give their younger players playing time. Ouachita fumbled and gave the Bulldogs prime field position late in the game. The Tigers defense made a huge goal line stand to make sure Southwestern Oklahoma State did not get in the endzone. The Tigers took over on downs and ran out the clock for their second victory of the season.

Ouachita has now started the season 2-0 in nine out of the past ten seasons. Next up for the Tigers is a road trip to Southeastern Oklahoma State. For more information on the Ouachita football team stay tuned to www.obutigers.com

Ouachita (1-0, 1-0 GAC) went into victory formation the final three plays to milk the clock away and come away with another close win against Northwestern Oklahoma State (0-1, 0-1).

Brazeal went 12-for-19 and threw for 168 yards and a touchdown. Junior wide receiver Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) became Brazeal's go to man as Freeman collected 57 yards off five recep- tions and his first receiving touchdown of the season. Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) was once again a force on the defensive side of the ball for the Tigers, with 11 total tackles and two key pass brake ups late in the game. Middle linebacker Jon Johnson (Haskell, Ark.) finished second on the team with 9 tackles.

First Quarter: Ouachita 7, Northwestern Oklahoma State 0 With 12 minutes to go in the opening quarter of play, Freeman, took the handoff ran for a nine yard gain but a hit from Aharon Barnes forced the ball loose and the Rangers set up in great field position.

Nine plays and 39 yards later Luke Neimeyer lined up for a 29-yard field goal to give Northwestern the early lead. Neimeyer shanked the field goal wide right and Ouachi- ta took over at their own 22-yard line.

Ouachita began a slow methodical drive down the field with 9:34 remaining in first stanza of play. On the tenth play of the drive Brown took a handoff and scampered up the middle of the field for a 19-yard gain. Two plays later and Oliver ran the ball in for the first Tiger touchdown of the 2018 season.

The Tigers ended the first quarter with a 26-yard pass to La'Darius McElroy (Ashdown, Ark.). The completion set the Tigers up in prime field position to begin the second quarter.

Second Quarter: Ouachita 20, Northwestern Oklahoma State 7 Ouachita had the ball spotted at the Northwestern 10-yardline and on the second play of the quarter Oliver ran the ball in from five-yards out.

Ouachita went on a 7-play 23-yard drive that saw Cole Antley (Atlanta, Ga.) kick a 30-yard field goal. The field goal gave the Tigers a commanding 17-0 advantage -mid way through the second quarter.

After a quick four-and-out by the Ranger offense, Ouachita got the ball back with decent field position to work with. 15-yard roughing the passer penalty against Isaiah Weed became the big play of the series as the Tigers moved into Ranger territory for the third consecutive series. Once again the Tigers had to settle for a field goal as Antley booted a 37-yard field goal through the uprights.

Down 20-0, Northwestern knew that they needed to get some sort of momentum going in their direction going into halftime. They did just that, pulling off a 14-play, 78- yard drive that was capped off by an Isaiah Weed touchdown.

Ouachita tried to grab the momentum right back from the Rangers in the closing minutes of the second quarter. The Tigers were able to work the ball down inside the Northwestern 20-yard line, where Antley lined up for a 29-yard field goal. Barnes blocked the kick and Trey Merritt returned the block kick 15-yards. Time ran out though as Ouachita headed into halftime with a 20-7 advantage.

The final completion of the drive was a 25-yard touchdown reception by Freeman. Antley missed the point after attempt and Ouachita lead 26-7.

Ouachita's defense developed a bend but don't break attitude late in final quarter of play. Northwestern Oklahoma State drove deep into Ouachita territory and had first and goal from the eight-yard line. The Tigers survived a scare on fourth goal as a touchdown was called off, thanks to a holding penalty on the offense. Evans made sure it was not a fluke as he broke up the pass on fourth and goal.
