Jim and Ashley serve in key positions in many civic organizations and the family, including three children are active in sports activities in their schools and charity and fund raising events. Jim is currently a basketball coach with a city league, and serves on the Red- stone-Huntsville AUSA Chapter Board of Directors. He also serves on the board of directors for the Air, Space and Missile Defense Association and as an executive committee member for the Air Defense Association. Ashley currently serves with the Madison Family of the Year Committee, Women’s Ministries and the PTA in two schools. She is a past president of the Redstone Arsenal Community Women’s Club. The 108th Birthday of the Army Re- serve was celebrated at the Tom Bevill Conference Center in Huntsville, AL on Friday, April 22, 2016. Soldiers from sev- eral local Army Reserve units in Hunts- ville were in attendance. Our chapter also had a great showing of our retired Army Reserve soldiers, retired military, and distinguished guest for our annual AUSA breakfast. Command Sergeant Major (Retired) John Perry, Chapter VP for National Guard and Reserve Affairs, opened the event by welcoming the Army Reserve Soldiers, the Army Reserve retirees and our honored guest. He announced the 108th birthday of the Army Reserve and thanked all those soldiers, both active and retired for their service and dedica- tion over the years.
