Tour : Arthurs Pass to Punakaiki

Drive from Arthur‟s Pass stopping as need be and to the West coast Punakaiki We do a classic scenic drive loop which features amazing scenery. Head inland to the Hokitika Gorge to admire its unbelieveably turquoise waters, also, enjoying views and photographing on the duration. Also of farmland, rivers and the mountains along the way. On the way back, head around the south and eastern end of Lake Kaniere. There are plenty of pull-outs to enjoy the lake shore as well as a short walk to Dorothy Falls. Then head back to Hokitika.

Tour: Punakaiki to Franz and Fox Glacier

Scenic drive along the West coast to Fox Clacier. Views of the Tasman Sea and coastal delights. Travelling through lush countryside around Kakapotahi. Time to stop and photograph Lake Ianthe in the Westland National Park. We visit the Franz Joseph Glacier and spend time near the face admiring and photographing this scenic wonder. Walkers can get to within 50 metres of the face and view it via a platform. If Time permits we can visit the Andris Apse Gallery at the Franz Joseph Oasis Hotel and get some inspiration from this awesome New Zealand Landscape Photographer.

Day 4: Sunday 24 April 2016

Tour: A day at Fox Glacier

Fox Glacier and Lake Matheson. At the heart of Glacier Country and Westland National Park, Lake Matheson is an achingly pretty sight. Formed by glaciation 14,000 years ago, it's surrounded by an ancient native forest. The lake mirrors two of New Zealand's highest peaks -- Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. We have the opportunity of two mornings to see this lake in all its glory. There are also short hikes around the lake and stunning views and photographic opportunities.

Like its twin, Franz Josef, the Fox glacier descends from the Southern Alps down into temperate rainforest just 300 metres above sea level. To see the glacier, you can walk to the terminal face, arrange an ice-hiking adventure or book a sightseeing flight. There are also glow-worm caves just a short walk from the town centre. Anyone wishing to book a helicopter flight has the chance to this as we have free time in the town during the day and also first thing the following morning if time permits.

Day 5: Monday 25 April 2016

A second chance for Lake Matheson and/or scenic flights at Fox glacier. Then we drive further south to Haast and the magnificent Mt. Aspiring National Park. Rivers, rainforest, lakes, pools, mountians and wonderful coastal scenery. We will stop at often as time permits on this journey such as Knights lookout for great photographic opportunities

Tour: Wanaka to Mount Cook

If we haven‟t walked to and photographed the famous Wanaka tree in the evening light, there is time to do the morning shot. We also take an hour or so to drive around part of Lake Wanaka to see the colours and foliage of autumn with wonderful views of the countryside.

We then head north and spend some time taking in the sights of Lake Putaki before we head up into the Aoraki Mt. Cook National Park. Picture-perfect Lake Pukaki is a glacial lake that is famous for its milky turquoise colour and serves as an ideal foreground for New Zealand‟s highest peak, Aoraki/Mt Cook.

We have the chance to do some various activities. Optional Helicopter flights. Also we have a special surprise for the tour. We Explore New Zealand‟s largest remaining glacier, the Tasman, by boat from and get close enough to touch the icebergs. Starts with a half hour walk to the terminal lake before boarding a stable boat for an hour boat ride with a specialist guide

1100-1400 Glacier Explorer Boat Trip An up close amazing encounter with icebergs, on a glacial terminal lake. Depart from outside The Hermitage Hotel. The bus will take you on a pleasant trip to the Tasman Valley, followed by an easy 1/2hr stroll through the National Park. Then board your MAC boat, and enjoy the ever changing ice face of theTasman Glacier icebergs on the Tasman Glacier Terminal Lake. Commentary throughout the trip by your experienced guide.

Tour: At Mount Cook

Optional Helicopter flights. Discover the incredible alpine region of Aoraki/ Mt Cook National park on a scenic helicopter flight along the full length of the Tasman Glacier with amazing views of New Zealand‟s highest peak. Top it off with a snow landing on the Tasman Glacier.

Walks within the National park. There are several. Short and longer. One of the most popular walks in Aoraki Mt Cook National Park, this scenic walk leads you into the foothills of the Southern Alps and offers excellent mountain, glacier and river views. Start at the White Horse Hill campground. The well-formed track meanders up and down as it winds its way around rocky hillsides and across multiple swing-bridges before it finishes at the spectacular Hooker Glacier terminal lake. The alpine memorial near the start of the track and Stocking Stream day shelter towards the end of the track are good rest/view points. 3 hours return (campground to lake and back). Many walkers choose to go only as far as the first swing-bridge which is only a half hour or the second swing-bridge, about an hour.

You can be assured of great photography. Also time to return to the Tasman Lake and shoot more Icebergs and glacial melt!!

Day 10: Saturday 30 April 2016

Tour: Mount Cook to Queenstown

We stop for a while to photograph Lake Twizel and the foreshore. A side trip out to Lake Oahu will be included before we head to Queenstown, We also hope to take a side trip to the Clay Cliffs of Paratea near Omarama where rivers flowing from glaciers existing 1-2 million years ago deposited layers of gravel and silt to form huge pinnacles and ridges separated by deep, narrow ravines.

Day 12: Monday 02 May 2016

Essentially a day for exploring, shopping and doing some optional activities. Take a cruise on Lake Wakatipu. The coach will do a half day drive to Glenorchy. The views and colours of both the Lake and the Foliage are stunning. Time for stops along the way and also for photography beyond Glenorchy up in the Paradise Valley.
