Group Dinner at Bealey Hotel Day 2: Friday 22 April 2016 0800 Group Cooked Breakfast at your Hotel Tour : Arthurs Pass to Punakaiki Drive from Arthur‟s Pass stopping as need be and to the West coast Punakaiki We do a classic scenic drive loop which features amazing scenery. Head inland to the Hokitika Gorge to admire its unbelieveably turquoise waters, also, enjoying views and photographing on the duration. Also of farmland, rivers and the mountains along the way. On the way back, head around the south and eastern end of Lake Kaniere. There are plenty of pull-outs to enjoy the lake shore as well as a short walk to Dorothy Falls. Then head back to Hokitika. Accommodation: Punakaiki Resort 1 night D, B Room Type: Hotel Room IN: 22 Apr OUT: 23 Apr A modern accommodation complex located on Punakaiki Beach, only 300 metres south of the Pancake Rocks & Blowholes. Dinner included at your Resort Day 3: Saturday 23 April 2016 0800 Group Cooked Breakfast at your Hotel Tour: Punakaiki to Franz and Fox Glacier Scenic drive along the West coast to Fox Clacier. Views of the Tasman Sea and coastal delights. Travelling through lush countryside around Kakapotahi. Time to stop and photograph Lake Ianthe in the Westland National Park. We visit the Franz Joseph Glacier and spend time near the face admiring and photographing this scenic wonder. Walkers can get to within 50 metres of the face and view it via a platform. If Time permits we can visit the Andris Apse Gallery at the Franz Joseph Oasis Hotel and get some inspiration from this awesome New Zealand Landscape Photographer. B Room Studio IN: 23 Apr OUT: 25 Apr The Westhaven Motel is a modern property that is centrally located in the Fox Glacier township All rooms feature queen, king or super king beds, private bathrooms with shower and bath, tea/coffee making facilities, microwave, underfloor heating, electric heating, phone and internet access and Sky television. Dinner own arrangements Day 4: Sunday 24 April 2016 0800 Group Cooked Breakfast at Lake Matheson Café Tour: A day at Fox Glacier Fox Glacier and Lake Matheson. At the heart of Glacier Country and Westland National Park, Lake Matheson is an achingly pretty sight. Formed by glaciation 14,000 years ago, it's surrounded by an ancient native forest. The lake mirrors two of New Zealand's highest peaks -- Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. We have the opportunity of two mornings to see this lake in all its glory. There are also short hikes around the lake and stunning views and photographic opportunities. Like its twin, Franz Josef, the Fox glacier descends from the Southern Alps down into temperate rainforest just 300 metres above sea level. To see the glacier, you can walk to the terminal face, arrange an ice-hiking adventure or book a sightseeing flight. There are also glow-worm caves just a short walk from the town centre. Anyone wishing to book a helicopter flight has the chance to this as we have free time in the town during the day and also first thing the following morning if time permits. Dinner own arrangements Day 5: Monday 25 April 2016 0800 Group Cooked Breakfast at local Cafe Tour : Fox Glacier to Haast A second chance for Lake Matheson and/or scenic flights at Fox glacier. Then we drive further south to Haast and the magnificent Mt. Aspiring National Park. Rivers, rainforest, lakes, pools, mountians and wonderful coastal scenery. We will stop at often as time permits on this journey such as Knights lookout for great photographic opportunities Accommodation: Heartland World Heritage Hotel 1 Night. D,B Room Standard room IN: 25 Apr OUT: 26 Apr Nestled at the bottom of South Westland alongside the Haast River, you will find the Heartland World Heritage Hotel. This World Heritage designated area is renowned as being New Zealand‟s “last frontier”, home to rare wildlife, rugged beaches and wild rainforests. B Room Hotel room IN: 26 Apr OUT: 27 Apr Edgewater Resort is an idyllic lakeside resort offering fine comfort, style and superb views of lake and mountains. Its location is unique, with lawns rolling to the shoreline of Lake Wanaka and just a 3 minutes drive from the town centre. All guest accommodation is sited to take advantage of lake and mountain views, provide easy access to the lake edge, yet retain privacy. Dinner own arrangements Day 7: Wednesday 27 April 2016 0800 Group Cooked Breakfast at your Hotel Tour: Wanaka to Mount Cook If we haven‟t walked to and photographed the famous Wanaka tree in the evening light, there is time to do the morning shot. We also take an hour or so to drive around part of Lake Wanaka to see the colours and foliage of autumn with wonderful views of the countryside. We then head north and spend some time taking in the sights of Lake Putaki before we head up into the Aoraki Mt. Cook National Park. Picture-perfect Lake Pukaki is a glacial lake that is famous for its milky turquoise colour and serves as an ideal foreground for New Zealand‟s highest peak, Aoraki/Mt Cook.
