Hammed Animashaun, Claudia O’Doherty & Joe Thomas star in ‘The Festival’ (image © Nick Wall) The Festival is the first comedy feature release from production company Fudge Park, formed by The Inbetweeners writers and executive producers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley. It is directed by Iain Morris and written by Keith Akushie and Joe Parham (Siblings) and stars Joe Thomas (The Inbetweeners, Fresh Meat), Hammed Animashaun (Flowers, Black Mirror), Claudia O’Doherty (Love, Trainwreck), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords, Moana) and Hannah Tointon (Mr Selfridge). The production team based at The Bottle Yard, building sets and basing production offices, art department and prop stores on site and using the Studios’ edit rooms, costume and make up suites and rehearsal rooms. A large festival set was created in a field in nearby Chew Magna, whilst other festival scenes filmed at Hengrove Park and Ashton Court in Bristol over four weeks in August/September 2017. Director Iain Morris on location during filming (image © Nick Wall) Private residences in Whitchurch were used for interior scenes, and other filming locations included Westbury Baptist Church, Bristol Medical Simulation Centre and Colston Hall, where graduation scenes were shot. #bfistats BFI STATISTICS 2015: UK INDEPENDENT FILMS WIN AUDIENCES IN A BLOCKBUSTER BOX OFFICE YEAR Highly anticipated blockbuster franchises thrilled UK cinema audiences in 2015 and UK independent films also held firm, achieving an 11% market share - the third highest on record 2015 sees highest ever UK box office takings: £1,240 million, up 17% on 2014 UK cinema admissions up 9% to 171.9 million UK spend from film production tops £1.41 billion – the second highest on record UK spend from High End Television programmes hits £759 million – up 20% on 2014’s £633 million Highest grossing UK independent film in 2015 was Legend, taking £18.4 million, with The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in second place on £16 million LONDON – Thursday 28 January 2016: Independent figures published today by the BFI show that in 2015 UK independent films held their own in a record year for the UK box office, with independent films and highly anticipated blockbuster franchises, including UK-made Star Wars: The Force Awakens and SPECTRE, pulling in record cinema audiences, and UK film production remaining strong throughout the year, with UK High End TV production showing significant growth. COMCAST | Universal Policy Regarding Tobacco Depictions in Films Mission. In light of the serious health risks associated with smoking, Universal Pictures has undertaken efforts to reduce depictions of tobacco smoking in Universal films that are rated for a youth audience. As a core part of its efforts, Universal Pictures has established a policy and procedures for identifying, evaluating and, where appropriate and feasible, eliminating smoking incidents from its youth-rated films. As used in this policy, the phrase “smoking incidents” refers to both tobacco smoking, whether in the foreground or background of a film, and the appearance of any tobacco-related signage or paraphernalia. Scope. This policy applies to films produced by Universal Pictures or any wholly-owned Universal Studios film label (including Focus Features and Working Title Films) and anticipated to be released in the United States with a G, PG or PG-13 rating. Sometimes Universal business units are involved in the production or distribution of other films with respect to which they have less or no control over content. These may include films co-produced by Universal and another studio, acquired by Universal complete or in post-production, or distributed by Universal on behalf of a third-party producer. Although this policy does not apply to these other films, Universal Pictures discourages depictions of tobacco smoking in all youth-rated films and will exert its influence, where possible, to minimize the occurrence of smoking incidents in them. Policy. As a baseline, Universal Pictures presumes that no smoking incidents should appear in any youth-rated film produced by Universal Pictures or any wholly-owned Universal Studios film label and released in the United States.
