Often Overlooked Things to do

Meridian Hill Park Between 15 & 16 NW and Florida and Euclid Beautiful European style park with statues and fountatins. Great people watching. Picnics. Drum circles on Sunday afternoons.

Exorcist Steps On M Street just north of Georgetown right next to the Exxon Gas station Steps from the 70’s classic. Nice place to stop after a Georgetown spending spree.

Hirschhorn Museum 7th Street and Independence Avenue SW Wonderful modern art museum and sculpture garden. Great gift shop.

Library of Congress 101 Independence Avenue SE One of the most overlooked gems in the city. The reading room is one of the most beautiful rooms in the world. You can view Thomas Jefferson’s collection which started the world’s largest library.

United States Botanic Garden Just south and west of the US Capitol A wonderful indoor botanic garden housed in an Art Deco glass greenhouse just footsteps away from the Capitol. Many unusual, beautiful and exotic species including orchids.
