Alito, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and Circuit Justice for the Fifth Circuit: Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 13.5, petitioner, Curtis Giovanni Flowers, a Mississippi death row prisoner, respectfully requests a forty-five (45) day extension of time in which to file his petition for certiorari in this Court, to and including Monday, July 7, 2018. The published decision of the Mississippi Supreme Court was entered on November 2, 2017, and petitioner’s timely petition for rehearing was denied on February 22, 2018. See State v. Petitioner’s time to petition this Court for a writ of certiorari currently expires on May 23, 2018. This application is being filed more than 10 days before that date.
