With this effort, we hope to create an arena in Japan and Asia for sharing knowledge and learning about the latest scientific and industrial progress related to Modelica and FMI (Functional Mockup Interface). We are now proud to present a conference with: • 3 Keynote speeches • 37 paper presentations • An exhibition area featuring 9 exhibitors • Great venue location in the heart of Tokyo According to Modelica Association standards, all papers are peer-reviewed and will be freely available for download. We want to acknowledge the support we received from the conference board and program committee. The exchange of simulation models is a key enabler for the distributed model based development and verification process. This was the main motivation to start the MODELISAR project 10 years ago. The main result of this research project funded by the European Union was the tool independent Functional Mock up Interface (FMI) for Model Exchange and Co-Simulation, which is now maintained within a Modelica Association Project. By now more than 100 tools support FMI. The presentation provides an update on the current status, planned new features and the roadmap towards a new release. A few examples demonstrate typical FMI use cases.
