How Accelerate Muskoka Meets Town Strategic Priorities • Bring private investment in the community in partnership with Town to help with economic goals • Focus on clean technologies (specifically water and climate related products/services) to demonstrate Huntsville’s commitment to climate change adaptation and brand of excellent water quality. • Demonstrate the benefit of great infrastructure to the economy – fiber connectivity. • Provide a culture that will excite youth and create educational opportunities. Page 32 of 206 Key Events to Date • Winter – public agency expresses interest in becoming anchor tenant in 87 Forbes Hill 2015 • Fall – Accelerate Muskoka team applied RFP to be operator of facility on the condition that 2015 we secure a tenant • September – second public agency expresses interest in rental of 87 Forbes Hill Dr. 2016 • November – public agencies complete best fit evaluation/due diligence of 87 Forbes Hill 2016 • Immediate – public agency to obtain approval for move 2017 • March – Submission of application to manage portion of $55 Million provincial innovation 2017 fund Long-term Plans • Develop agreements with numerous colleges and universities to run part-time courses • Launch suite of professional development courses focussed on environmental technologies/services • Raise additional capital for follow-on seed funds • Work with Town to develop additional building sites to create innovation park • Public agencies already interested in location will be targeted tenants Page 33 of 206 How it Can Work • Long-term lease agreement with Town of Huntsville (up to 20 years) • Accelerate Muskoka to cover operational costs of building with option to purchase • Accelerate Muskoka to have ability to develop additional building sites as an Innovation Park. Immediate Actions Underway • Finalizing anchor lease arrangements with public/private organizations • Raise capital for seed fund • Submitted application to manage innovation fund on behalf of province - additional $15 Million • Locate first companies in the building • First startup has already received investment by group and can move in immediately • Currently in discussion with additional companies to be part of program Page 34 of 206 Ask • Accept our proposal as originally presented, and enter into a Letter of Intent to provide Accelerate Muskoka a specified timeline to enter into lease negotiations.
