It is very disappointing to note that, despite the installation of three ‘poo bins’ around the village, thoughtless dog owners are failing to clear up after their pets, often within very short distances of the bins. The problem is particularly prevalent, within a few yards of the bin, on the path leading from Lower Street, up to Park Lane. The Parish Council is doing its best but needs everyone to help, if Paulerspury parish is to remain a lovely place in which to live.

THE PAULERSPURY PLAYERS’ 30th Anniversary Celebration Variety Show Sat 8th Sept There have been 30 Years of The Paulerspury Players – Oh yes there have! 14,000 panto’ seats sold and over £70,000 donated in cash and in kind to local causes over that time. We’ve decided we really must celebrate such a long and successful run with a rather special show. September 8th is the date to remember, and I suggest you reserve your tickets early to avoid disappointment. The Show will include: Old Time Music Hall; Folk and Country Music; Jazz and Blues; Barbershop Quartet; Morecombe and Wise and Two Ronnies sketches; Comedy acts – old favourites and a chance to join in - all in the comfort of our village hall with a drinks bar and a sit down meal in the interval. Rural Communities Encouraged To Use Online Crime Reporting Facility Rural residents and workers are being encouraged to use an online reporting form to alert police to any suspicious or criminal activity in their area. Police’s rural crime team, whose remit includes wildlife and heritage crime, wants to hear from people about anything which strikes them as out of the ordinary. “Don’t worry that you’re wasting our time. No matter how small an incident, we need to know about it so we have an accurate picture of rural criminal activity to help us take targeted action against it.” The rural crime team is especially keen to encourage people to be aware of and report wildlife-related crime. Report crime and suspicious activity by filling out the online reporting form here https://www.northants.police.uk/webform/online-crime-reporting

Paulerspury Horticultural Society MAKE-BAKE-GROW Show 2018 In spite of the fear that the hot and dry weather would have made it difficult to produce our normal quantity and quality of exhibits, the show was as colourful and varied as ever, with the added bonus of a larger number of exhibitors, including more children. Many thanks to all involved in whatever way. Great to see Mollie back in the village for the day and presenting the prizes! Special mention must go to Jimmy Adams and Mick Yates for their fantastic vegetables and flowers, to Andrew Barker for the Best Cake in Show, to Zena Pryke for her roses and to Dee Cole for her sugarcraft, which was awarded the Rose Bowl for the Best Exhibit in Show. Other winners included Jose Lepper (Fruit & Flowers Cup), Sue Starr ( Floral Art Cup), Pam Weston ( Brenda Slack Memorial Prize) and Jenny Brooks ( Percy Foster Memorial Prize). The Children’s Prize was won by Henry Strange. If you did not enter or come along this year, please put the date in your diary for next year (10th August 2019). It is not a show just for experts – anyone can enter and win, or just enter and marvel at the skill of others!! There is such a variety of classes, there must be something that you can have a go at!!
