Academic Research Team Martin Dowling, Senior Teaching Fellow and Director of Operations, School of Management, University of St Andrews BSc (Hons), PgDip Ed Tech, MA, Chartered FCIPD, FHEA Martin’s career in higher education has included academic management and leadership, postgraduate course development and management, quality assurance systems, teaching, research and consultancy. His teaching interests include human resource management, industrial relations and management development.

Dr. Iain Henderson, Senior Teaching Fellow, Edinburgh Business School (EBS), Heriot-Watt University BSc MBA PhD Chartered FCIPD, FHEA Iain’s research interest is in management development, and his main teaching is in the areas of organi- sational behaviour, strategic planning and research methods. He has published articles on HRM issues in peer- reviewed academic journals including Personnel Review and The British Journal of Occupational Learning.

Iain and Martin are the co-authors of the EBS course Managing Personal Competencies. Both are Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and of the Higher Education Academy.
