CSS Letter Template Canon Slade School Head Teacher: Mrs K Sudworth BEd NPQH October 2019 Dear Parents/Carers CANON SLADE CAREERS CONVENTION: THURSDAY 21st NOVEMBER 2019 As part of our ongoing commitment to careers advice and guidance, I am writing to advise you of our annual Careers Convention on the Thursday 21st November from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. The event will take place in our School Hall and Chapel and parents/carers and students from Year 9 through to Year 13 are warmly invited to attend. The event will be of great benefit to students when making decisions about their future career paths. On the evening there will be representatives from a wide variety of professions and careers, uniformed services and further and higher education. Please see the attached for a full list of exhibitors. There will also be opportunities to speak to training providers, who can offer guidance and information on the various levels of apprenticeships available to both school and college leavers. This year’s event is set to be our largest yet, with new exhibitors from both industry and higher education; which I am sure will be of particular interest to our current Year 11 and Sixth Form students. Once again, there will be two short talks on Labour Market Information and Apprenticeships. More information about these talks will be available on the night. I do hope that you are able to attend our event and I look forward to meeting you on the evening. Yours faithfully Mrs M Cullum CEIAG Officer [email protected] 01204 333343 – ext 118 Bradshaw Brow T: 01204 333343 Bolton E: [email protected] BL2 3BP [email protected] W: www.canon-slade.bolton.sch.uk LIST OF EXHIBITORS Exhibitors in bold are new to the Convention this year Access to Music Alliance Learning Appleton’s Landscape Bangor University Blackburn College Blackburn College University Centre Bolton At Home Bolton College Bolton Sixth Form College British Army British Insurance Broking Association (BIBA) Bury College including Apprenticeships Canon Slade Sixth Form Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologist (C.I.A.T.) • Year 1 Parents Letter
Dear Families As we come towards the end of this most unusual of terms, I am writing to confirm that our temporary covid related timetable structure will remain in place at least until February half term. In relation to this it would greatly help us if students that are receiving lifts from family members could be dropped off in the surrounding streets rather than immediately next to the College buildings. YR1 students have taken 2 key assessments this term. Linked to this when we come back in the new year students will be reviewing their progress so far and planning for improvement. We will be sending all parents details of how to log in to our Parents Portal (called our Improve system) so you will be able see progress to date and the improvement plans your son/daughter has written. We will be running a parental consultation evening early in Spring and at this moment in time it looks like that will be a telephone event. We will be in contact early in the New Year with further details about this event. In the meantime, the table below has some useful contacts should you wish to contact the College.
