With more than 750 students participating in intercollegiate athletics, student-athletes account for approximately 27% of traditional undergraduate enrollment. While most institutions with enrollment levels similar to Mercyhurst are seeing a decrease in student-athlete enrollment, Mercyhurst continues to go the opposite direction. In just three years, Mercyhurst’s student-athlete enrollment has increased from 629 to 750, with plans to have nearly 800 student-athletes next year. Mercyhurst sponsors 25 varsity athletic programs, including Division I men’s and women’s hockey, along with an emerging club sport and recreational program. The Lakers have made 63 NCAA appearances in the last six years, featuring regional championships from , men’s lacrosse, men’s tennis, and men’s .
