With more than 750 students participating in intercollegiate athletics, student-athletes account for approximately 27% of traditional undergraduate enrollment. While most institutions with enrollment levels similar to Mercyhurst are seeing a decrease in student-athlete enrollment, Mercyhurst continues to go the opposite direction. In just three years, Mercyhurst’s student-athlete enrollment has increased from 629 to 750, with plans to have nearly 800 student-athletes next year. Mercyhurst sponsors 25 varsity athletic programs, including Division I men’s and women’s hockey, along with an emerging club sport and recreational program. The Lakers have made 63 NCAA appearances in the last six years, featuring regional championships from baseball, men’s lacrosse, men’s tennis, and men’s basketball.
