Kansas General Tire Superspeedway Challenge The Dawn 150 is the fifth round of the General Tire Superspeedway Challenge, comprised of 7 races held on paved ovals greater than 1.5 miles in length. - A superspeedway championship for the car owners within the overall championship of the ARCA Menards Series 20-race schedule. - Only race points are counted towards a team’s point total, with the bonus points for leading laps or winning the pole disregarded. - Champion crowned at Kansas Speedway on Friday, October 16, 2020 and recognized at annual championship awards banquet. Kentucky Speedway was not originally on the 2020 ARCA Menards Series season schedule, but the change of scenery did not bother Ty Gibbs one bit as he drove the Coy Gibbs-owned No. 18 Toyota to the win in the General Tire 150. The venue change to Kentucky from Charlotte Motor Speedway played out directly in favor of the talented 17-year old driver, who was able to make his 1.5-mile speedway debut thanks to relaxed age restrictions in place at Kentucky. This was the second superspeedway win of the season for the No. 18 team, who also won at Pocono Raceway in June with Gibbs behind the wheel. The big win for Ty Gibbs pushed his father’s No. 18 team to the top of the General Tire Superspeedway Challenge point standings with 163 points, but the Joe Gibbs Racing team shouldn’t get too comfortable in that position. The No. 18 team holds a lead of one point over Cathy Venturini’s No. 25 team with full-time driver Michael Self.

ARIC ALMIROLA Looking for ‘10/10’ Odds in Vegas KANNAPOLIS, North Carolina (Feb. 19, 2020) – This weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 10 Smithfield Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), will make his first start at a 1.5-mile track with his new crew chief Mike Bugarewicz and their new-look team. Since joining SHR in 2018, Almirola has posted top-10 finishes in three of his four Las Vegas starts with a best finish of sixth in the fall 2018 race. He finished 13th last fall. Bugarewicz has six previous starts at Las Vegas, the last five with SHR’s No. 14 team and driver Clint Bowyer, with a best finish of 10th in the spring 2017 race and a pole qualifying effort last fall. Almirola scored his first three Las Vegas top-10s consecutively before last fall’s 13th-place finish and plans to carry the momentum into Sunday’s first of three races of NASCAR’s annual West Coast Swing. In addition to his Cup Series starts at Las Vegas, Almirola has four Xfinity Series starts, never finishing outside the top-17 or starting outside the top-15. The Cuban American has also made three Las Vegas starts in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and completed all three events inside the top-10. “I’m looking forward to heading to Vegas this weekend,” he said. “It will be a great chance to grow together with ‘Buga’ and the new team to dial in communication and get on the same page.

Sioux Chief Showdown Preview: Calypso Lemonade 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway The Calypso Lemonade 200 at the Indianapolis-area Lucas Oil Raceway will mark the long-awaited second race of the for the 2020 ARCA Menards Series Sioux Chief Showdown. The Showdown, a revamped and reloaded version of the “Short Track Challenge” of years past, is open to teams from the ARCA Menards Series East & West as well and now featuring an increased overall payout with nearly $1 million in race purses, point fund money, and bonus programs available over the ten-race series-within-a-series. The Sioux Chief Showdown is scheduled to consist of ten races at a variety of tracks, ranging from the tight three-eighths mile bullring of Elko Speedway to the mile and a quarter WWT Raceway at Gateway to the road courses at Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen. The Showdown champion is scheduled to be crowned at Memphis International Raceway on Saturday, September 26, 2020. The Sioux Chief Showdown will bring together the best of the best from the ARCA Menards Series, the ARCA Menards Series East and ARCA Menards Series West (formerly known as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series). These ten events offer drivers who may not be able or eligible to run the full 20-race ARCA Menards Series schedule the opportunity to run for a title. Combined with the overall ARCA Menards Series crown as well as the ARCA Menards East and ARCA Menards West championships, drivers will have four unique titles to compete for in 2020.
