Japan Saitama Aerospace Industry Cluster SAITAMA Saitama industrial promotion public corporation TEL : +81 48-647-4086 FAX : +81 48-645-3286 10F Sonic-City Bldg., 1-7-5 Sakuragi-cho,Omiya-ku,Saitama-shi,Saitama 330-8669 Japan URL : http://www.saitama-j.or.jp/ e-mail : [email protected] Support Program for Entering into Aerospace Industry Saitama Industrial Promotion Public Corporation (SIPC) has been supporting the small and medium enterprises within Saitama Prefecture to enter into the aerospace industry expected to grow the commercial the aerospace market in the future and to expand their business; thus, SIPC plans the integration of the aerospace industry into Saitama area. As supporting the companies already engaged in the program to expand the business, SPIC also helps companies with sophisticated technological capability to join. Supporting menu 1 1 Support of display at exhibitions As part of supports for development of market, we provide a Saitama booth at the exhibitions held in Japan and overseas, and support the exhibition of small and medium enterprises. Supporting menu 1 Management of study group for entering into aerospace Industry 2 We manage “Study Group for Entering into the aerospace Industry of Saitama” targeting companies in Saitama considering to engage in or enter into the aerospace industry. In the study group, we have activities scheduled about 5 times a year to deepen our understanding including lectures for the purpose of grasping industry trends and acquiring necessary knowledge to enter into the industry, on-site plant visits of leading companies, etc. 45 study group members are actively participating, aiming at entering into the aerospace industry. Supporting menu 1 3 Supporting the establishment of integrated production system For purposes of entering into the aerospace industry and expanding business, we are working to establish an integrated production system which is required by the aerospace industry. In 2016, we tackled an integrated production system of 2 kinds of the aerospace parts as the first model case in Saitama. Part which supports wing flap (high-lift devices to generate large lifting force by extending wing area) installed in MRJ, Boeing aircraft, or other aircraft. The part acts as a rail to activate flap to flap-extended position at take-off. tungsten carbide coating (alternative processing of hard chrome plating) Electroless nickel plating material: high tensile strength steel (4340 material) wing flap rotary actuator track rail main flap aft flap roller Flap up position Flap extended position Production summary Material : High tensile strength steel (nickel-chrome-molybdenum steel) Surface treatment : Apply electroless nickel plating for purposes of uniformity of plating thickness and Cutting processing : Machining high tensile strength steel of hard-to-cut improvement of corrosion protection. Apply tungsten carbide coating (thermal spraying) on the surface material into complicated shape using 5-axis machining center requiring wear resistance superior in durability and environmental resistance in place of hard chrome plating Production process Production by the cooperation of A, B, and C companies Ordering manufacturer Ordering Receiving Core company (Production control/quality control) special process special process 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 finishing electroless coating non-destructive Cutting heat & non- shot- nickel (thermal testing, process treatment cutting destructive peening chrome spraying), final process testing plating grinding inspection A company A company A company A company A company B company C company A company Integrated production, Composing companies Having excellent technology in hard-to-cut materials for aircraft and large facilities with an abundant Core A company production experience. Integrated production processing Bushing for aircraft First in Saitama Model case 2 (bushing for landing gear) What is a bushing for landing gear? One of the landing gear parts to support aircraft on ground and copper alloy bearing to mainly support rotation shaft. Cylindrical and donut-shaped mechanism part, machined to cylindrical shape, inserted into structural elements after surface treatment and used for the buffering with a shaft. Production summary Production summary: Fabricated each 2 bushings for 5 kinds of different sizes, 10 bushings in total Material : Aluminum bronze (AL-NI-BRONZE) Non-destructive inspection / NDI : Implementation of FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) (ASTM-E1417-05E) Cutting process : High precision processing of C63000/AMS4640 Surface treatment : Implement Cd plating (AMS-QQP-416) or Zn-Ni plating (AMS-2417) on each piece of each size. which has particularly high proof stress value among the high * Zn-Ni plating is an alternative processing of Cd plating. strength aluminum bronze.
