As Father David preached in his homily last Sunday, the resolution for Lent should be committing to something extra instead of giving up something. It is time to resolve to attend all K of C meetings. The council needs members to be active and contribute in whatever way they are comfortable. Our next breakfast is on Sunday, March 12th. We have committed all the proceeds to the Parish Mission to Peru. Please resolve to help. Call John at: (306) 249-3529. John would also like to hear from you for the 2nd Tuesday of the month (March 14th), To Be Your Brothers Keeper breakfast at Queen’s house. A Major degree is scheduled for March 12th in Davidson. Men’s spiritual weekend is on March 10th at Humboldt and March 11th at Munster. Our council will be considering a motion to pay for registration. The Dine, Dance, Auction event was a huge success due to the hard work of Louis Roth. Thanks to all who attended and contributed. Remember that pro-life work continues throughout the year, and does not start and end with this event. Another suggested resolution for Lent; time to pay your dues if you have not already done so. CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE: Inspired by the Spirit, Women Respond to God’s Call. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 8th beginning with Mass at 7:00 pm in the Queen of Peace Chapel. Members can continue to forward prayer requests to Diane Waldbillig who has agreed to continue this valuable service. Please remember the Clothing Depot as you think about doing some spring cleaning. They are always looking for clothing, housewares and small appliances. You can call the depot (306) 242-5042 for pickup or you can drop off your articles in the “little house” in the entranceway. If you think you have a couple of hours a week to volunteer at the depot, Bea Megyesi, depot manager, would greatly appreciate it. She is very short of volunteers. Did you know: CWL Diocesan Convention will be on May 1, 2017 in Watrous. Bus $20, Registration fee $15, lunch $15, banquet $30. Deadline for registration is April 10th. Please let Alice or Avis know if you are interested in attending. Please pray: for the conversion of our hearts and minds this Lenten season, that we should strive to imitate our Lord and Blessed Virgin Mary; for all those preparing for the Holy sacraments, may the Holy Spirit open their hearts to God’s word. NO WEEKDAY MASSES (TUESDAY-THURSDAY): Please note that there will be no weekday Masses on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of this week on account of Clergy Study Days. Our regular schedule will resume on Friday, March 10th with Mass at Sherbrooke at 10:00am and Mass in the chapel at 12:15pm. FOREVER IN MOTION FITNESS CLASSES FOR OLDER ADULTS: Please note that classes have been cancelled on March 6th, 9th, and 13th and will resume on Thursday, March 16th at 10:00 am in Holy Family’s Hall. REFUGEE COMMITTEE: We are currently looking for volunteers to come forward to be part of our Holy Family Refugee Committee. There are many ways to be involved. CREATIVE LOITERING: Everyone is welcome to drop in on Thursdays from 10:00 am until 12 noon in the Area of Welcome near the fireplace. Coffee and tea will be provided. Come for a cup of friendship. Our time is to form community. We are Holy Family. STATIONS OF THE CROSS: On Friday, March 10th at 7:00 pm, the Catholic Women’s League will lead the Stations of the Cross in the Queen of Peace Chapel. All are welcome. MOM’S MORNING OUT (MMO): On Tuesday, March 7th (9:30 - noon) our group is having a discussion on postpartum blues/depression and emotional roller coasters that are experienced by women.
