REQUESTS FOR DETERMINATION Greenberg/Morachnick 17 Pocomo Road Laurentide Environmental, LLC 14 South Shore Road Nantucket, MA 02554 e-mail: [email protected] (508) – 332 – 9722 Field Inspection Report Date: September 1, 2015 Applicant / Owner: Mark Greenberg & Tami Morachnick Location: 17 Pocomo Road Agent: Blackwell & Associates - Art Gasbarro Comments: Developed lot off Pocomo Road. Due to time constraints, I was unable to visit the property on 9/1. Will be able to inspect on 9/16. The project narrative has the limit of work at the 25-foot buffer and the proposed garage no closer than 50 feet to the wetland boundary. These setbacks have usually required the filing of a NOI. However, the submitted plans show the limit of work in excess of 50-feet to the wetland boundary and the proposed garage partially outside the 100-foot buffer. Questions and Recommendations: Clarify the wetland setbacks for the project. Wait for the results of the wetland boundary review on 9/16. Inspector: B. Mike Oldfield "Man on the Rocks" Che Giunge Dopo Ben Sei Anni Dal Precedente Disco Di Inediti
Man On The polistrumentista inglese! -

1857 – Troughton Sisters: (L) Amelia Dorcas Ormrod, (C) Mrs [Mary] Carr, (R) Clara Troughton
1857 – Troughton sisters: (l) Amelia Dorcas Ormrod, (c) Mrs [Mary] Carr, (r) Clara Troughton What we see in this image This delicately hand-tinted ambrotype portrait is highly unusual as the date and location of the photograph can be confirmed by the presence of a copy of the 1857 Sydney Post Office Directory, quite deliberately positioned to ensure its legibility, in the lap of the woman seated on the left identified as Amelia Dorcas Ormod, nee Troughton. For their front facing ¾ length group portrait the three female members of the Troughton family (thought to be sisters) wear very similar styles of day dress, with jacket-style bodices and full skirts. All the dresses have sloping shoulder lines and three-quarter length pagoda sleeves, trimmed at the elbow with ruched or fringed oversleeves and worn with ruffled and flared white undersleeves, with loose pleats (which may or may not conceal centre front fastenings) fanning up the corsage from the waist and spreading over the shoulders. Amelia, aged 22, wears the plainest gown with a white peter-pan style collar and a ribbon tie, and two rows of braid trimming the edges of her sleeves. Her sisters, [Mary] and Clara, standing to the right, wear dresses of light-coloured checked cotton and dark silk taffeta respectively, both with shirred panels at the waist, Clara’s silk gown with matching silk fringed trim on the edges of the sleeves. All three women wear their hair in the popular bandeau style of the mid-1850s, for which smooth front sections of hair have been wrapped over the ears and drawn back to the nape of the neck, the remainder arranged behind in a longer and deeper roll; the sheen of their hair suggests that it has probably been oiled. -
Lighthouse on the Hill: the Bluefield
The Bluefield College Story Lighthouse on the Hill: Retired Senior Professor of History By: Rev. David M. Armbrister Resiliency! This is a word that aptly fits the story of Bluefield College. Financial issues have beset the school since its beginning, often giv- ing those directly associated with its operation, as well as those simply interested in its welfare, concern about its continuance as an education- al institution. If there had not been men and women of strong faith and characterized by their willingness to make great sacrifices, the college might not exist today. There would be no eighty-fifth anniversary celebration in 2007. We can be thankful for that band of men who made that trip to Bristol, Virginia in a day when travel was not easy. The enthusiasm and drive that they took with them established a model that others would follow in supporting a Baptist college and, initially, a fitting school equivalent to a high school for southwest Vir- ginia. The courage and determination that ac- companied their great belief that the school was in God’s plan continued to uplift and guide the institution through its early years. These same qualities and convictions have enabled the school to overcome its problems and emerge as one of Virginia’s leading institutions of higher learning today. The author of this work has sought to present this marvelous story in a manner that will cap- ture the unique spirit of this school and those who have been associated with it through the years. His prayer is that the story will awaken a new understanding of the service that the col- lege has rendered in its eighty-five years and provide the groundwork on which it can go for- ward in the years ahead. -

"But you'll have to be up with the lark," she added. To her son these words conveyed an extraordinary joy, as if it were settled, the expedition were bound to take place, and the wonder to which he had looked forward, for years and years it seemed, was, after a night's darkness and a day's sail, within touch. -

ALEXANDER WILSON says that Robert Forrester informed him that he had shot a native Boy, and that he was induced to it from motives of humanity. The Boy having been previously thrown into the River by the neighbouring settlers, with his hands so tied, that it was impossible he could swim to the opposite side. ROBERT FORRESTER says that a large party of natives having appeared at the back of his Farm he alarmed his neighbours and went out to observe them. That in the road to the natives they met a Native Boy who they supposed was coming in for the purpose of discovering what arms they had. That they made him a prisoner; tied his hands behind his back [376] and delivered him to MICHAEL DOYLE to take to his [?]. That he was soon after alarmed by a cry from Doyles that the boy was escaped and had jumped into the River. That he and TWYFIELD immediately ran to the river and saw the boy swimming. That he then was prevailed on to shoot the boy by the importunities and testacies of all around. That the boy should get back to the natives and induce them to an attack by discovering there was no more than one musket in the whole neighbourhood. -
