A Textual Research of ‘ ’ on A Ming Stone Tablet Standing in Mashuikou Village

Abstract: There is a Ming stone tablet inscribed with ‘ 新 建 义 勇 武 安 王 庙 碑 记 ’ (Xīn Jiàn Yì Y ng The article Chinese appears W Ān Wáng Miào Bēi Jì) standing in Guanyu temple of Mashuikou village of Zhuolu county of from page 086 to 099. Hebei province. The text was written by Xuwei while the tablet was erected by General Li Rusong. By interpreting the text and analyzing the organizational system of Mashukou Great Wall and horse administration of border issues, this thesis tries to find out the Ming military servicemen’s worship for Guanyu and the reason for that. Besides, it presents the military activities and characteristics of Li Rusong in his early life from indirect sources.

The article Chinese appears Abstract: As for the diplomatic issues with Korea, the Qing dynasty strictly followed the traditional from page 100 to 114. complicated and rigorous etiquette procedure which traced far back to Spring & Autumn Period, and sending all along the people from Eight Banners (princely rich family) as envoys on the official mission to Korea for a mark of the suzerain-vassal relationship between Empire Qing and Korea. Therefore, it was the Emperor who in person appointed the envoy from the selected candidates who were from the Banners of the Manchu, Mongol and Han ethnics, mostly from the Manchurian scholar officials who were excelled at Chinese ancient classics. The management system of the envoys was perfectly prepared for ensuring and maintaining the dominating post of the Qing Empire in the world. So it is significant to study what the envoys learned and experienced overseas for scholars to review the relations between Manchuria, Qing dynasty and the outside world.
