Qualified customers will be able to bid on these 1.121 million-barrel tanks under the guidelines set by OTMS and Matrix. PRESS RELEASE Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha Commences Front End Engineering Design of its Storage Terminal in Saldanha Bay, South Africa Cape Town, South Africa, May 19, 2015 – Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha (RF) (Pty) Ltd, a joint venture between OTGC Holdings (Pty) Ltd and MOGS (Pty) Ltd, is pleased to announce that it has commenced with the detailed engineering works for the development and construction of a commercial crude oil blending and storage terminal. The facility will have a total capacity of 13.2 million barrels, comprising twelve in-ground concrete tanks in Saldanha Bay. The commencement of the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) is a major milestone and demonstrates significant progress for the Saldanha Bay project. The scope of the FEED includes the earthworks as well as civil, mechanical and electrical components of the crude oil terminal and associated infrastructure. The FEED will take a maximum of six months which will immediately be followed by the construction phase. Completion of the terminal is projected for the first quarter of 2017. The new crude oil terminal in the Port of Saldanha Bay will be built as state-of-the-art facility in accordance with the highest safety and environmental standards. The terminal will be connected to an existing jetty which can handle vessels up to VLCC (very large crude carrier) size. Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha is at an advanced stage of securing the initial customer base load for the terminal. OTGC Holdings (Pty) Ltd is an independent bulk liquid storage provider in South Africa with world class expertise in the field of bulk liquids handling. -
