  • Focus on Falcons
Quote for the week. “You don't always get what you wish for; you get what you work for”. Let’s go Fever, Let’s go! West Coast Fever hopes all supporters will help break the record for a crowd at an ANZ Championship netball game when West Coast Fever meets the Melbourne Vixens at the state of the art Perth Arena this Saturday, April 27. They want to hear a loud and proud Fever crowd at the Arena as they try to break the current record of 8,478 fans at an ANZ Championship game. That record was set back in Round 12, 2010 at Hisense Arena when the Vixens took on the Adelaide Thunderbirds. They want to gather the biggest netball crowd in Perth since 2011 when the Australian Diamonds played an international fixture against arch-rivals New Zealand at Burswood Dome in 2011. That crowd was 6768 and they believe they can better that this Saturday. (Courtesy of the Netball WA website) On Tuesday 23rd all of the Falcons teams played at The Arena Joondalup Scores for the Games were; WC Falcons 18U 18 vs. Coastal Sharks 46 WC Falcons Reserves 54 vs. Coastal Sharks 40 WC Falcons League 50 vs. Coastal Sharks 71 Come along and support the West Coast Falcon League Team as they play at the Arena Joondalup against the Lions on Tuesday 30th April at 7.20pm (Reserves and 18U have a bye). This document outlines some of the shortfalls of facility provision in our state, but more importantly how the WA Football industry will tackle the improvements of these shortfalls in a planned and collaborative approach through to 2030. It is no secret that our game has experienced significant growth since the WAFC’s last Strategic Facilities Plan in 2006 with female football, NAB AFL Auskick and club football all contributing to the growth. This plan provides clubs, leagues, government and other stakeholders with a strategy to align planning, investment and development of football facilities across WA. It is vital that we continue to partner with all levels of Government and football stakeholders and acknowledge the part they play in delivering a true industry plan. Now, more than ever, we need to focus on Club Football, of which high quality and inclusive facilities is a key enabler to support participation in our game.

Parliamentary Debates (HANSARD) FORTIETH PARLIAMENT FIRST SESSION 2020 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY Thursday, 12 November 2020 Legislative Assembly Thursday, 12 November 2020 THE SPEAKER (Mr P.B. Watson) took the chair at 9.00 am, acknowledged country and read prayers. HON JAMES (JIM) McMILLAN BROWN Condolence Motion MR M. McGOWAN (Rockingham — Premier) [9.02 am] — without notice: I move — That this house records its sincere regret at the death of Hon James McMillan Brown and tenders its deep sympathy to his family. I begin by paying my respects, and Parliament’s respects, to Jim’s family in the Speaker’s gallery today. I would like to name the people here: Bill and Jenny Brown, Timothy Brown, Rachel Brown, Kerry and John Fisher, Aaron Fisher, Peter Fisher, Amy Riley, Dawn Pianto, Chelsea Pianto, Vera Hughes, Rose Brown and Gaye McCulloch. I thank them all for coming along today to hear Jim’s condolence motion. I believe other family members will be present to hear Jim’s condolence motion in the Legislative Council. Throughout Jim’s 15 years of parliamentary service, he served in both chambers of the Western Australian Parliament. He was always willing to assist members and he worked hard on behalf of his rural and regional constituents. Jim was part of a proud tradition of farming Labor members of this Parliament. Jim was born on 5 April 1927 to William and Susan in Merredin in regional Western Australia. Merredin would be a town that remained an important place for Jim throughout his life and career. His parents owned the local coffee shop, then named the Coffee Palace and later Raphael’s.
