The interests that are required to be registered are listed below. Items 1 to 9 provide a “snapshot” or stock of pecuniary and specified interests of members as at 31 January 2017. Items 10 to 13 identify a flow of members’ interests for the period from the member’s previous return. -

Hon Shane Jones Minister for Regional Economic Development 23 February 2018 MEDIA STATEMENT Provincial Growth Fund open for business The new $1 billion per annum Provincial Growth Fund has been officially launched in Gisborne today by Regional Economic Development Minister Shane Jones. “As of today, the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) is open for business and has the potential to make a real difference to the people of provincial New Zealand,” Mr Jones says. “We are being bold and we are being a mbitious because this Government is committed to ending the years of neglect. Nearly half of us live outside our main cities. If this country is to do well, then our provinces must thrive. “Our first regional packages support the regions most neglected by the last government: in Northland, Tair āwhiti-East Coast, Hawke’s Bay and Manawat ū- Whanganui and the West Coast of the South Island. “We are providing an immediate boost to these areas by investing $61.7 million into forestry initiatives, tourism ventures, rail and roading projects, and supporting these regions develop their proposals further to help them get off the ground. “The first of many projects the PGF will support will create more than 700 direct jobs, and 80 indirect jobs – an impressive start to what will be an exciting three years for our provinces. “If all the projects we’re funding realise their full potential, this will equate to more than $344 million of public and private investment for our regional economies.” The PGF aims to enhance economic development opportunities, create sustainable jobs, contribute to community well -being, lift the productivity potential of regions, and help meet New Zealand’s climate change targets. -

Czech Republic Parliamentary Delegation Visit
Czech Republic Parliamentary Delegation visit Wellington November 2019 Report on Czech Republic Parliamentary Delegation visit 19-21 November 2019 Background The visit by the Czech Republic’s Deputy Speaker and Foreign Affairs Committee was to enable the delegation to meet with New Zealand parliamentarians and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to discuss a range of topics including migration and trade. It was also to give the delegation a deeper context into New Zealand in advance of the European Union – New Zealand Free Trade Agreement while discussing further cooperation and growth in bilateral relations. Meetings within Parliament The New Zealand Speaker, Rt Hon Trevor Mallard, hosted a dinner and held an official meeting with the Czech delegation. The dinner was also attended by New Zealand members of Parliament: - Simon O’Connor, Chairperson Foreign Affairs and Defence and Trade Committee; - - Kieran McAnulty, member Business and Primary Production select committees, Junior Whip, Labour Party; - Willow-Jean Prime, Parliamentary Private Secretary for local government and member of the Governance and Administration select committee; and - Dr Duncan Webb, Chairperson, Environment select committee and member Finance and Expenditure, and Regulations Review, select committees. This enabled the delegation to have wide discussions of interest on parliamentary process and bilateral matters. The delegation had a luncheon with New Zealand members of Parliament which was hosted by Co-Chair of the New Zealand-Europe Parliamentary Friendship group Marja Lubeck MP. The luncheon included Assistant Speaker Adrian Rurawhe MP and former Speaker, Rt Hon David Carter MP. The survey was conducted between 15 September and 7 October 2008. 400 voters on the Tamaki Makaurau were surveyed. The margin of error is +/- 4.9%. EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT DELEGATION FOR RELATIONS WITH AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND 12TH EP/NEW ZEALAND INTERPARLIAMENTARY MEETING 26 FEBRUARY - 5 MARCH 2006 AUCKLAND, WELLINGTON, CHRISTCHURCH CHAIRMAN'S REPORT The Delegation travelled to New Zealand from 26 February to 5 March. The delegation was headed by Mr Neil Parish (EPP-ED, United Kingdom). The full list of the participants is appended. MEPs held meetings at the highest level, in particular with the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Helen Clark; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Margaret Wilson; the Foreign Minister, the Rt. Hon. Winston Peters; and the Leader of the National Party, Dr Don Brash. Members also met a wide range of Members of Parliament, including the Labour Party, the National Party, the New Zealand First Party, the United Future New Zealand Party and the Green Party. Meetings also took place with the Business Committee of the House of Representatives. On regular occasions during the entire visit the Delegation was accompanied by members of Parliament. The Delegation was briefed by the Heads of Mission of the Member States to New Zealand, including the Delegation of the European Commission, and met also representatives of agriculture, academia and the press. Key items discussed during the meetings were the EU-New Zealand relationship; Common Agriculture Policy reform; development aid to the Pacific region; New Zealand's free trade agreement with China; internal New Zealand politics, in particular the Mixed Member Proportional representation system (MMP) that has been in operation since 1996; the post-enlargement EU and the draft constitutional treaty; world affairs and global security.
