Bereits im Sommer 2007 durfte der Italiener als Stagiaire erste Profi-Erfahrungen im Team MILRAM sammeln. Der 21-Jährige setzte diese Erfahrungen gut um und konnte sich im vergangenen Jahr mit Top Ten-Platzierungen bei der Super Challenge Series und der Polen-Rundfahrt in Szene setzen. Seine Ziele für diese Saison sind, sich sportlich auf allen Ebenen zu verbessern, gut in das neu formierte Team hineinzuwachsen und vielleicht sogar einen ersten eigenen Profi-Erfolg zu feiern. Mit der Unterstützung seiner neuen Mannschaft hofft der 22-Jährige auf seine ersten Siege bei den großen Landesrundfahrten. National hat der Sprinter in den vergangenen Jahren nahezu alles gewonnen, was es zu gewinnen gibt. Auch international hat der U23- Weltmeister des Jahres 2006 mit zwei zweiten Plätzen bei seinem Tour de France-Debüt 2008 angedeutet, was von ihm in den kommenden Jahren zu erwarten ist.
