Montana Library Federation Coordinator 2013 Montana Library Directory Dear Friends: The State Library is pleased to bring you the 2013 Montana Library Directory. I hope that you will fi nd this Directory helpful for a variety of purposes. Continuing the tradition of previous years, the Montana State Library off ers this publication online only. To fi nd the most current library contact information or to print a copy of the Library Directory, go to the Montana Library Directory at http://www.msl.mt.gov/For_ Librarians/Library_Directory/. We encourage you and your staff members to use these online versions to access the most up-to-date information about Montana libraries. Jennie Stapp For Montana librarians and staff of the State Library, the Montana Library Directory State Librarian is more than just an online resource for contact information for Montana libraries. The Directory is a powerful tool that librarians use to enroll in a variety of statewide programs and services. The State Library uses the Directory to push content and resources to libraries to serve their end users. In these ways the Library Director then becomes an important reporting tool that empowers us to to track a wide variety of information about the use of the statewide services we provide. Because of the amount of information recorded, in 2012 State Library staff upgraded the system to create diff erent levels of authority within the Directory. These changes allow each library staff member and library trustee to register independently and to maintain their own contact information. We encourage staff and trustees of all Montana libraries to create accounts within the Directory and to login regularly to keep that information up-to-date. We welcome your questions and comments about the Montana Library Directory. Please contact our offi ce at (406) 444-3115. At the August membership meeting in Missoula, I will pass the gavel, and it will be with mixed emotions that I do so. My time as President has flown. It has been a year of stretching for me, as well as a huge learning curve, much bonding, and a lot of fun. I'm hoping that PNLA has benefited from my presidency. It is difficult to look back and say, if not for me, there would not be this, or that. Or say that I prevented some horrendous fate that threatened us, leaped tall buildings in a single bound, put out the fire…but my gaze at this point is a bit like looking in a mirror darkly.
