This fall you' ll discover what an integral part the blues have played in American history through two new TV and radio series. In declaring 2003 as the "Year of the Blues", Congress proclaimed the blues: "...... a national treasure, which needs to be preserved, studied, and documented for future generations." In that light, GLT and WTVP are teaming up to bring you The Blues. It's a 13-week radio series from PRI (Saturdays The Blues TV Series from 6:00-7:00 PM, 9/ 28 : "Feel Like Going Home" : 6-7 p.m. beginning September 27th) Martin Scorsese (King of Comedy, The Color ofMoney) and a seven-part public television series (beginning 9/29 : "The Soul of a Man" : 6-7 p.m.
