The data about the distribution of recently found and rare Lepidoptera species are still insufficient. The objectives of this contribution are to supplement the check-list of Lepidoptera of Lithuania by four species new for the fauna of the country , as well as to report new records of 153 rare species from the year 2011. Material and Methods The majority of the data were collected by the authors of this report G. Švitra (G.Š.), V. Ba čianskas (V.B.), T. Ūsaitis (T. Ū) and D. Lukoševi čius (D.L.) during field expeditions throughout Lithuania in 2011. Standard entomological equipment and methods (transect counts, netting and light trapping) were used. Part of the material was obtained using a Jalas model automatic light trap equipped with a 160 W blended lamp bulb. The trap was installed in the backyard of the administrative building of the Rambynas Regional Park close to Bit ėnai and maintained by the park ecologist D.

Peter Huemer & Paul D. N. Hebert DNA Barcode Bibliothek der Schmetterlinge Südtirols und Tirols (Italien, Österreich) – Impetus für integrative Artdifferenzierung im 21. Jahrhundert Abstract DNA barcode library for Lepidoptera from South Tyrol and Tyrol (Italy, Austria) – Impetus for integrative species discrimination in the 21st Century The present study presents a DNA barcode library for 2565 Lepidoptera species (70 families) from an alpine transect covering the provinces of South Tyrol (Italy) and Tyrol (Austria). Sequences from the 648bp barcode region of the mitochondrial COI gene were recovered from 9964 specimens and 9443 were fully barcode compliant. Species differ on average from their Nearest Neighbor by a minimum 6.38% while mean intraspecific divergence is only 0.45%. A successful, unequivocal barcode based identification was determined by comparison with barcode records obtained in other studies, pooled in Barcode Index Numbers (BIN) in BOLD (Barcode of Life Data Systems) for 2442 species, representing 95.2% of the sequenced species with BINs (2565 spp.). Identical or overlapping barcodes were found in 84 species, with all cases involving closely related or taxonomically uncertain species complexes. Deep intraspecific splits (>3%) were detected in 72 species, with these cases likely due to varied factors including Keywords: Lepidoptera, cryptic diversity, introgression and phylogeographic divergence. Finally, the impor- DNA barcoding, alpine transect, tance of DNA barcoding for advancing understanding of the Tyrolean fauna is revealed Tyrol, Italy, Austria through the discovery of 97 new records for the county. Eupithecia addictata, E. impurata, E. schiefereri, E. pernotata. E. wettsteini (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) Fazekas Imre Abstract. Amongst the representatives of the tribe Eupitheciini occurring in Hungary there are several less known species in regard their taxonomy, bionomy and geographical distribution. In the present paper, the author discusses five such species in details. The author notes that the voucher specimen of Eupithecia addictata Dietze, 1908 known from the literature (Bátorliget, Eastern Hungary) cannot be located. At the same time a new record for the occurrence of the species in Nagybajom (County Somogy), Southwestern part of the country, has been provided. The European distribution of the species is figured on a map. The species Eupithecia impurata (Hübner, 1813) in Hungary is threatened and is in need of pro- tection. During the revisionary work, all the specimens representing the data from various Hungari- an locations published by the literature turned to be E. semigraphata. Therefore for clarifying the distribution of both of these species in Hungary further studies are necessary. Figures show the wing and genitalia differential characters of the two species. The sketchy distributional map for the two species is also given, and there is a table for comparison of the identification characters and bionomics. The author announces the presence of species in South-Hungary, the first records of the taxa in South-Transdanubian region (Mecsek Mts.). Description of the new habitat in Mecsek Mountains: white oak scrub woodlands, thermophilous woodland fringes white dry open grasslands.
