    Route 1: (2.5 hours from Haldwani-Kathgodam) Kathgodam > Bhimtal > Khutani (U-turn) > Padampuri > Dhari > Dhanachuli > Dhanachuli Bend (Front and Up) > Paharpani > Motiapathar > Saimgarh/Punagarh (take the left turn here to Natadol) Cross Bhimtal and travel further on the road to Bhowali. There comes a junction of three roads at a place called Khutani. This junction is famous for its handicrafts store. Take a U-turn here towards the road going up. This road goes to Padampuri. On reaching Padampuri, cross the iron bridge. After a few more kilometers, next town will be Dhari. Keep on going straight. After crossing Dhari and Dhanachuli, there is a junction of four roads called 'Dhanachuli Bend'. This is about 1.7 KM from Dhanachuli and around 26 KM from the U-turn that you took at Khutani. At this bend, proceed to the diagonally opposite road, located on the front and upper part of the junction. This road will pass through Paharpani and Motiapathar. After crossing Motiapather, there is a small village known by two names - Saimgarh or Punagarh. Take a left turn in this village. This road goes to Natadol village. The turn is located about 15.7 KM from the Dhanachuli Bend. After traveling about 1.5 KM after the turn, on this road to Natadol, you'll reach the cottage. It takes around two and a half hours to reach the cottages from Haldwani by the shorter route (through Padampuri and Dhari), while driving slowly and comfortably. After all the scenery itself is quite enjoyable. Route 2: Kathgodam > Bhimtal > Bhowali > Gaagar > Ramgarh > Bhatelia > Dhanachuli Bend > Paharpani > Motiapathar >Saimgarh/Punagarh (take the left turn here to Natadol) This is a longer route but has double-road for most part of the travel.

Uttarakhand, India Geology of the Patharkhola area, Almora District, Uttarakhand (India): with special reference to the lithology and field relation Haritabh Rana and Harel Thomas* Department of Applied Geology, School of Engineering and Technology Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwasvidyalaya, Sagar (M.P.), India, 470003 ABSTRACT The Patharkhola area (longitude 79°09'E to 79°17'56''E and latitude 29°47'42''N to 29°56'69''N) covering an area of about 125 square Kms situated in Almora District, Uttarakhand forming a part of the Almora Nappe has been selected for the detailed geological mapping at an scale of 2 cm equal to 1 Km. The rocks mainly include phyllites, schists and gneisses forming an anticlinal structure showing phyllites in the NW, S to SW and in the western part of the area, while the schists occur in the folded outcrop pattern in between both the limbs of the fold and the gneisses occur in the core of the fold. Although thin quartzitic bands has also been noticed interbedded with phyllites and schists. Several transverse faults have been noticed in the area under investigation which has been demarcated in the map.
