The latest groundbreaking young adult novel from award-winning author, Alison Evans.

Description Ever since the witch cursed Babs, she turns invisible sometimes. She has her mum and her dog, but teachers and classmates barely notice her. Then, one day, Iris can see her. And Iris likes what they see. Babs is made of fire.

Echo AUSTRALIA FEBRUARY 2020 Ida Alison Evans

An intelligent, diverse and entertaining young adult novel

Description How do people decide on a path, and find the drive to pursue what they want? Ida struggles more than other twentysomethings to work this out. She can shift between parallel universes, allowing her to follow alternative paths. One day Ida sees a shadowy, see-through doppelganger of herself on the train. She starts to wonder if she's actually in control of her ability, and whether there are effects far beyond what she's considered. How can she know, anyway, whether one universe is ultimately better than another? And what if the continual shifting causes her to lose what is most important to her, just as she's discovering what that is, and she can never find her way back? Ida is an intelligent, diverse and entertaining novel that explores love, loss and longing, and speaks to the condition of an array of overwhelming, and often illusory, choices.

Winner of the People's Choice Award at the 2018 Victorian Premier's Awards.

Frances Lincoln Children's AUSTRALIA FEBRUARY 2020 The Kingdom of Nothing Ronald Wohlman, illustrated by Dylan Hewitt

How does the Royal Family live so happily when they have nothing?

Description In the kingdom of Nothing, there really was nothing. No toys or TVs. No tablets or phones. No bicycles or tricyles or anything at all. Yet, with nothing in their kingdom, the Queen and the King, the Princess and the Prince, were still the happiest family in the land. And the reason why is simple. They all knew that the things in life that can bring you the most joy are around you all the time. You just need to know where to look for them.

About the Author Ronald Wohlman was born in 1967 in a small town outside Johannesburg, South Africa. Growing up, Ronald loved most of all to listen to stories, read books, and write stories of his own. In his spare time he worked for the local theatre company as a puppeteer and an ac- tor. He loved to see people entertained by stories. Especially children. After high school, and before his studies, Ronald decided that he must see as much of the world as he could. So he travelled around Europe, Greece and the Middle East, looking for new adventures and new stories. Ronald has had the good fortune of living and working in London, Paris and New York as a creative director on global brand advertising. With this book he returns to his great love of telling stories that are universal, meaningful and filled with humanity. Dylan Hewitt was born and raised in England. He studied for his BA degree in graphic design at lofty Central St Martins. From here he dived into a life of art direction in the advertising world developing campaigns in every media. He gained more and more illustration and writing experience along the way - every day writing scripts, headlines and copy while illustrating, art directing and storyboarding. Behind closed doors he was busy creating children's books. A love of the picture book classics means his work has more than a twang of the M Saseks and Bruno Munaris of this world. The influence is clear in his illustration styles - simple shapes using inks and cutouts, vibrant colours and brushed lines. His biggest takeaway from advertising has been that the idea is king, and he likes his ideas to have humour, charm, warmth and a spot of the surreal just like him.

Hotkey AUSTRALIA FEBRUARY 2020 Bookshop Girl: Life's a Beach Chloe Coles

What do we want?! Books. When do we want them?! Forever.

Description The second in a new laugh-out-loud and sparky teen series, perfect for fans of Holly Bourne and Louise Rennison.

Holly and Paige are at a literary festival in Skegton-On-Sea. They've been looking forward to it for ages. It's one of the biggest book festivals around - and there's a pop up bookshop tent and a lot of Big Shot Writers. It's basically like they're being PAID to go on a BFF HOLIDAY and SELL A FEW BOOKS! They had to beg their grumpy boss Tony to put their names forward. He ummed and ahhed and said he wasn't sure it was a good idea. But they're here at last and it's brilliant.

Well, kind of. It's true that there's a diva of an author called Minnie, who dresses head to toe in pink, and insists that Paige picks fresh flowers for her signing table every day, even though it's raining. But along the way, Paige begins to find that there's quite a lot to learn from Minnie - not least, how to reach out for the things she wants . . . and the boy she likes.

Written by debut author and bookseller Chloe Coles, this is the second in a new teen series that will make you want to rush out and take shelter in your nearest bookshop!

About the Author Chae Strathie is an award-winning children's author and journalist who grew up in a tiny village surrounded by a forest in Scotland, which probably explains a lot. His first attempt at professional writing was creating a Star Wars comic at the age of seven. He sold two copies and made a total of four pence. A regular at major book festivals, Chae has toured the length and breadth of the UK and visited schools as far afield as Romania, reading his stories, acting the goat and singing silly songs about worm ice cream and beard-growing. He lives by the sea in Fife with his wife, three annoying cats and a very old goldfish called Lazarus.

Marisa Morea is a freelance illustrator based in Madrid, Spain. She lived in Barcelona for a couple of years and she graduated in a MA Illustration at Eina School in Barcelona in 2009. After a few years working as an Art Director in several advertising agencies, Marisa decided to quit and try as a full-time illustrator. So far, she's worked with many international clients from the United States, Australia, UK, France and Singapore.

In her spare time, Marisa is an Asthanga yogi and a classic cinema lover. She also goes crazy for music and enjoys creating covers of her favourite songs on the guitar.
