AT KWU 12 1 0 TOTAL 12 1 0 In 2019, Hendrickson’s first season leading the Coyotes, he led the team to a second straight KCAC Championship with a perfect 10-0 record. The Coyotes also reached the NAIA FCS Quarterfinals. Hendrickson’s Coyotes featured six All-Americans, and the KCAC Player of the Year in Johnny Feauto, the Offensive Player of the Year in Demarco Prewitt and the KCAC Defensive Player of the Year in Shaq Bradford. The Coyotes also set several new school records, including points in a game, game total offense, and margin of victory. Several players also set new school records. KWU also had two CoSIDA Academic All-America selections in Trenton Poe-Evans and Eli Smith. Eight were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 11 were named Academic All-KCAC.

Hendrickson served as an assistant under former coach Matt Drinkall in 2014 and 2015 before spending two seasons at Coe College (Iowa) and in 2018 was the offensive coordinator at Northern State (S.D.) before returning to KWU.

In his two seasons at Coe, the Kohawks went 15-7 overall winning the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs in 2016. In his first season with the program, the offense ranked 15th in the nation in rushing offense with 253.7 yards per game, 26th in the nation in total offense with 473.6 yards per game, and 23rd in the nation in red zone offense, scoring 86.8 percent of the time. Running Back Trevor Heitland led the nation in all-purpose yards with 223.92 per game, while also leading the nation in rushing yards with 1,913.

In each season working as a coordinator, Hendrickson has seen school records fall. In 2017, wide receiver Demetrius Harper set the single season school record at Coe for receptions with 73. In 2016, quarterback Gavin Glenn set the single season school record for passing touchdowns at Coe with 27. In 2015, quarterback Jake Curran set the single season school record for passing with 3,436 yards.

Hendrickson began his coaching career as the defensive quality control coach at Auburn University in 2012. He then moved on to Holmes Community College for the 2013 season as the running backs coach, prior to his first stint at Kansas Wesleyan.

He is a former collegiate player, opening his career at Cornell University. Hendrickson then transferred to Western Illinois where he played wide receiver for the Leathernecks. WIU reached the 2nd round of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs in 2010. Hendrickson was a 3-time All-Missouri Valley Academic selection as well as the Western Illinois Dr. Frank Sorenson Award recipient, for holding the highest GPA on the football team.

Hendrickson received his bachelor of business in supply chain management from Western Illinois in 2011. He went on to receive his master of business administration in 2015 from Kansas Wesleyan. He lives in Salina with his wife Hannah, who is the Director of Golf and Women’s Golf Coach at KWU. Benoist joined the staff at KWU after serving as an assistant under Mike Hall at Salina Central Ochoa was a four-year star for the KWU women’s soccer team, earning first-team All- High School. Benoist also has coached at Southeast of Saline High School in Gypsum. KCAC honors all four seasons at midfield. She started in 81 of 82 career matches, tallying 15 goals and 12 assists. In addition to breaking the single season record in 2018, Prewitt also broke the career rushing record set by NAIA Hall of Famer Charles Jessamy of 3297 yards. Prewitt finished his career with 4702 career rushing yards. In 2018, Prewitt set a new NAIA record for single season rushing attempts with 429 and just missed the NAIA record for rushing touchdowns (43). He also scored 84 touchdowns in his career (77 rush, 7 rec), setting a new school record for scoring in a season.

STEVIE CATCHES EVERYTHING Stevie Williams set a pair of new records for the Coyotes last season. His 17 touchdown receptions set a new school record, along with his 1455 yards receiving. He is only the third receiver in KWU history to have a 1000-yard receiving season. Zach McClain (1099, 2013) and Charlie Simmons (1037, 2018) are the other two. Williams also led the NAIA in receiving yards per game (121.3) and in receiving yards. His 17 touchdown grabs also tied for the most in the NAIA with Reid Jurgensmeier of Morningside.

LESS THAN ZERO TIMES THREE KWU has held an opponent to negative rushing yards three times last season, the last minus-7 vs Saint Mary. Kansas Wesleyan held Tabor to minus-1 rushing yards in the September 7 game. The Coyotes did it again on September 21 vs Bethany, holding the Swedes to minus-3.
