  • Football 2009 Media Guide
WARRIOR FOOTBALL 2009 MEDIA GUIDE A CULTURE OF CONSISTENCY Spend any time on the southwest corner of campus of Sterling College and one thing will apparent. Warrior football is always open for business. No matter the time of year, the direction the football program has taken over the past five years has made it what Jason Dannelly in the 2008 NAIA Football Rankings referred to as “one of the most consistently competitive programs.” Its not just good recruting, or just good coaching; it is a work ethic that head coach Andy Lambert describes as a deep, long-term month work ethic. That demands consistency; a 2009 FOOTBALL culture of consistency. SCHEDULE The past two years have been polar oppposites as far as offensive scheme has been concerned as the Warriors had to adjust the game with the personnel under center. The SEPTEMBER graduation of quarterback Tyler Degenhardt, the leading rusher for the Warriors in 2008 will no doubt change the running game, but the return of junior running back Rashard Colquitt who rushed for over 700 yards, not far behind Degenhardt, will ensure what Lambert refers to as “... 12 @ Southwestern 7:00 an athletic and versatile rushing attack.” Acquiring offensive lineman Chandler Keenan from Dodge City Junior College was a key pickup in bolstering an offensive line that assisted in a 19 @ Peru State 1:00 rushing game that posted over 220 yards per game average. 26 OTTAWA 6:00 “We are looking to be more balanced in 2009; most of that though is played out in the first 2-3 weeks of practice,” remarked Lambert.
