CORK COUNTY COUNCIL ROADS ACT, 1993 TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

Road Subject of Proposed Closure L-8025 Rathbarry/ Castlefreke, between the R598-0 and R598-32

Period of Proposed Closure From 8:00hrs Monday 1st April 2019 to 20:00hrs Friday 3rd May 2019 (24 Hour Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate Road Maintenance

Alternative Routes Westbound or eastbound – Continue along the R598.

Local access will be maintained throughout the works.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure L-4021-43(part) within Lissycrimeen, from junction of L-8101-20 to L8121-17, Clonakilty

Period of Proposed Closure From 8:00hrs Monday 22nd April 2019 to 20:00hrs Friday 14th June 2019 (24 Hour Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate Road Maintenance

Alternative Routes Westbound – head along the L8121-17 to Carrigeen cross roads. Turn left on the L8121-0 to Butlerstown. Continue north along the L4022-0 to Tirnanean cross roads. Turn left on the L- 4018-61. In Lislevane, turn left on the L8103-0 and continue south to the junction of Dunworley Causeway. Eastbound – the above is applicable in the reverse.

Local access will be maintained throughout the works.

Period of Proposed Closure From 08.00hrs Monday 6th May 2019 to 20.00 hrs Friday 6th July 2019 (24 Hour Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate Road Maintenance.

Alternative Routes West Bound – Return towards Ballinascarty on the L4033-32. Continue onto the L8066-0 then onto the L4031-37 and L4031-19, towards Shannonvale. Turn right after the bridge onto the L4032-0. At the R588, turn right and continue north towards Knockskagh.

East Bound – The reverse applies

Period of Proposed Closure From 08.00hrs Monday 6th May 2019 to 20.00 hrs Friday 28th June 2019 (24 Hour Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate Road Maintenance.

Alternative Routes North Bound – From L4023-0, turn left along L8112-0. Turn right on L8110-17 and continue to Kinston Cross Roads.

South Bound – The reverse applies

Period of Proposed Closure From 08:00hrs Thursday 21st March 2019 to 17:00hrs Friday 19th April 2019 (24 Hour Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate New Footpath and Drainage Works.

Alternative Routes Continue on North Main St, turn right onto Dolphin Square and turn right onto Catherine St. One way traffic from Catherine Street to North Main Street will be maintained on the south side of O’Neill Crowley Street.

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure Clonakilty to Ring Road (Part) from Facksbridge roundabout to the entrance of Desert Camping and Caravan Park.

Period of Proposed Closure From 20:00hrs Friday 22nd March 2019 to 08:00 Sunday 27th April 2019 (24 Hour Closure).

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate the Continuation of existing road closure for erection of flood defenses and associated works.

Alternative Routes Travelling from Clonakilty to Ring. Take N71 at Facksbridge roundabout north to the R-600-0 (Hospital Cross). Take the R-600-0, east to Darrara cross, the L-4016-0 south via Darrary to Darrara Church and the L-4015-27 west via Ballintemple and Curraghgrane Beg to North Ring and Desert. The reverse applies travelling from Desert and North Ring to Clonakilty.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure The R595 from its junction with the L-9810-0, entrance into Public Car Park adjacent to Field’s, off Main Street, Skibbereen to its junction with the R595 North Street/L4216-15 The Square. Access to the L-9811-0 Public Car Park adjacent to Supervalu will be available for the duration of the closure via the L-9810-0.

Period of Proposed Closure From 09.00hrs Monday 1st April 2019 to 20.00hrs Thursday 25th April 2019 (24hr Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure To facilitate Installation of Paved Pedestrian Crossing point as part of Skibbereen Public Realm Works.

Alternative Routes The usual one way traffic system through the town is to be maintained. Traffic travelling from Bridge Street to North Street via Ilen Street and the By-Pass (N71) taking the exit off for R595 Baltimore. Traffic travelling from North Street to Baltimore via R595 Market Street and continue to Baltimore roundabout, as usual.

Footpaths on both sides of the street will remain open so there will be full pedestrian access maintained to all premises along Main St for the duration of the closure.
