  • •2011 CJFL Record Book Special:2007 Record Book
…Introduction This edition of our Record Book includes some new material and recent research. First, we had an opportunity to obtain the original game sheets from former PJFC Chief Statistician Darly Slade. These sheets are from 1976 to 1982 and provide us with a hugh catalogue of lost information. Included in the Prairie papers were copies of weekly stats releases from the BC, Manitoba and Ontario Conferences. In particular there was a 1978 letter from former OFC Chief Statistician Lloyd Norton regarding the suspension of the Etobicoke-Lakeshore Bears by President Paul Teolis. In researching this matter we also found that Scarboro Rams ceased operations for the season some 10 days later and that both teams were missing in previous OFC final standings. This has been updated. Also, we have learned from Paul Shortt that the 1978 BC league had similar issues in 1978. North Shore Cougars failed to field a team and Vancouver Blue Bombers folded after just two games. More detailed information can be found in the 1978 Milestone section. Secondly, more newspaper articles became available for the Eastern teams of 1904 to 1913, the Manitoba juniors of 1912 & 1913, the Western Groups of the 1927 Jr ORFU, as well as the 1949 and 1970 Jr ORFU. These team standings have been update. New research information on the actual organization structure of both the ORFU and the QRFU have required us to refer to them as the Junior ORFU or QRFU per say rather than the ORFU- QRFU Juniors. The Eastern team standings are updated on this change.

The CFL, with input from all teams, will then invite additional players from the regional combines to the national event in Toronto depending on player performance. Last year, 13 players from regional combines were extended an invitation to the CFL Combine, and 12 of those players were selected in the 2018 CFL Draft. The top players eligible for the upcoming 2019 CFL Draft, as ranked collectively by the teams and the league office, are invited to attend the CFL Combine presented by New Era. A staple in the New York region and an emerging program on the nationalQuick stage, the Facts Manhattanville and College Athletic Contents Department continues to bolster its reputation as a program on the rise in all areas: athletic achievement, academic success and overall participation. More than 325 Valiant student-athletes (nearly 20 percent of the student body) took part in intercollegiate athletics during the 2010-11 school year, showcasing the continued and rapid growth of athletics at Manhattanville. With the announcement that the department will begin sponsoring women’s golf starting in 2012-13, the program has expanded to 22 intercollegiate teams – including eight new sports that have been established or re-established since 2007 alone. And teams at Manhattanville do not just compete, they win. Four teams earned conference regular-season or tournament championships in 2010-11 and three Valiant squads (women’s soccer, women’s hockey and men’s golf) appeared in the NCAA Tournament. 13 of 21 Valiant squads earned berths in their respective conference championships last year, including the eighth title in 12 seasons for the women’s hockey team and the second straight title for men’s golf. In addition, a pair of Manhattanville squads (men’s hockey and women’s hockey) spent much of the year nationally ranked while two more programs (men’s basketball and men’s golf) topped the list of teams receiving votes nationally in their respective polls over the course of the year. On an individual level, many Valiant student-athletes were honored in 2010-11 as well, including a pair of Freedom Conference Players of the Year and two Freedom Rookies of the Year to go with 32 combined All-Conference honorees.
