Cadbury is today launching its search for a new Milk Tray Man, and it could be you. The original 80’s icon is coming back to our screens to signal the start of a nationwide search for a modern-day hero to take on the role. Looking for the nation’s most thoughtful, caring and brave individuals to continue the legacy, Cadbury will scour the country to find the new face of Cadbury Milk Tray.

Made famous for his daring escapades to deliver a box of delicious to the lady he loves, the black polo-neck wearing figure has been synonymous with Cadbury Milk Tray for over 35 years. But in a new TV advert, audiences will see James Coombes, one of the original Milk Tray Men, call for wannabe candidates to step up to the mark and apply online at www.newmilktrayman.comfor their chance to become the nation’s new hero.

Set within a quintessentially British secret spy headquarters, the ad features the 80’s hero in his iconic black polo-neck, taking the viewers on a journey of the extreme lengths the Milk Tray Man has previously gone-to to deliver that famous box. It concludes with Coombes announcing that the search is now on for his thoughtful, caring yet daring replacement, calling for them to step forward, as he leaps out of the window and leaves his office ready for his successor.

The successful applicant will boast the modern Milk Tray Man qualities that include being thoughtful as well as adventurous and understanding that gestures of romance, friendship and even kindness can take many forms. The new recruit will become the face of the brand in 2016, culminating with a leading role in the next Cadbury Milk Tray TV advert.

The return of this iconic hero is part of a modern day makeover for this much- loved box of chocolates celebrating its 100th birthday this year. Complete with newly designed packaging that is as beautiful as a gift wrapped present, Cadbury Milk Tray now also features three new delicious flavours, ensuring that there’s never been a better time to gift a box of these mouth- watering treats to a loved one.

Premiering on ITV on the 9th October, the new advert will for the first time invite viewers to get involved and apply to be the newest Milk Tray Man. The application process will remain open until 30th November 2015 with the new Milk Tray Man being announced early next year.
