The initial goal of the Filled with the Spirit Campaign when it began in 2014, was to raise $2.5 million for the new Community Center and lower Retreat Center projects. As building costs have increased over these last five years, and some building plans have changed, the new cost estimate is between $2.8 and $3 million. Final costs are still being determined as bids from subcontractors are being received. The general contractor for the project is Bayland Buildings of Green Bay. Financing is provided by Lutheran Church Extension Fund. Psych and Lucero are currently serving as Camp Luther’s Seasonal Join Camp Luther and Johnson Brothers Construction of Munising, MI, Program Coordinators. They’ve been serving at camp since this fall, for a week of service and fellowship. Forty skilled volunteers (knowledge and their hard work and servant leadership has been a huge blessing to and skills with basic stick construction preferred) are needed to help the ministry of camp. Among countless behind-the-scenes tasks build the NEW Fort Village! Come for all or a portion of the week or stay supporting the ministry of Camp Luther, through the April Workbee Weekend! Before serving this school year, Psych was a summer counselor at Camp Luther in 2016 & 2017 and the Keweenaw Base Camp (KBC) Program Coordinator in 2018. Lucero was a counselor in 2018.

Both will continue in ministry at Camp Luther this summer, Psych at Help make Fort Village a reality this April! KBC and Lucero overseeing youth camps at Camp Luther.

Positions still available include KBC Program Coordinator, kitchen assistant, and maintenance assistant.
