Hi. My name is Matthew Gosselin and I am a Sophomore at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. I am a Biology ma- jor and am currently engaged in ecological research on campus. I am the 2018 recipient of the Tuition Raffle hosted by Our Lady of Assumption Church. Thank you to the SeptemberFest Committee for creating this wonderful raffle.

When I found out that I had won the raffle, I couldn’t quite comprehend what had happened. My grandmother, who had bought the ticket, was fiercely insistent that she had purchased the winner, but everyone is always overly optimistic about their chances, and I wasn’t holding my breath.

The night of the raffle, I received two phone calls. One was from my overjoyed parents and the other was from my grandmother, who sounded like she had just seen Jesus in person. Hearing both of them announce the good news didn’t help it to sink in though. I couldn’t fully grasp the odds of me winning and the size of the prize. It wasn’t until I finally signed the papers to accept that it all sunk in.

Each year the cost of Stonehill’s tuition rises. With this raffle prize I am able to plan my classes for Jun- ior year and not have to worry about the cost of my classes or seeing the growing tuition bill in July. I can focus on my academic plans and not worry about seeking a student loan, which comes with higher interest rates each year.

I encourage all families to fill out a raffle ticket for SeptemberFest 2019. Not only are you in the running for covering some or all of your tuition, but you are helping a very worthy cause.

Thank you Our Lady of Assumption Church and the SeptemberFest committee. RANO O & ATTORNEY I S W "" #$ R#&' ( A Since 1938 O James M. Hughes REDGATE M N . CONSTRUCTION
