Greetings to each and every one of our U3A Newport Members from your committee. We hope that you have all now settled down into the new way of social life that has been foisted upon us by the current pandemic. As the vast majority of our members are either IN or APPROACHING the ‘vulnerable’ section of the population, we must all be very careful what help we can personally offer if we are not to exacerbate our own risks and those of the ‘helpee’. Remember – the virus does NOT move itself, it is we humans who move it from place to place. We are well aware that there are many groups who are offering help and it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Therefore we are proposing that your committee keeps an up to date list of agencies who are offering the sort of assistance our members are likely to seek. We intend to routinely itemise them in emails and display them on this our web site. Please use these agencies where possible if you have any concerns – remember they are there for YOU not just everyone else.
