PRODUCING PROFESSIONALS: Two recent Gannon football student-athletes are currently pursuing their professional dreams at the highest levels. Defensive end Randy Colling (2008-11) is a member of the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders and quarterback Liam Nadler plays with the IFL’s Colorado Crush.

EXPERIENCE IN THE TRENCHES: Gannon’s entire offensive line returns from a year ago. Redshirt senior Charlie Long and redshirt junior Matthew Hackathorn are back after starting every game last season. Junior Brady Bowling had 10 starts. Redshirt senior Andrew Peirson and sophomore Kiley Smith Jr. earned nine and eight starting assignments, respectively. However, Peirson has seen time on both the offensive and defensive lines this season.

FOOT EXPLOSION: Morrison enters Saturday’s contest with a 40.8 punting average on 76 career punts. It currently ranks first all-time in program history ahead of Adam Schaffer’s 39.4 average on 122 career punts from 2011-13.

BACK-TO-BACK HISTORY: Gannon has recorded three winning seasons during the last four years with a 6-5 mark in 2015, 9-2 record in 2013 and 6-5 mark in 2013. The program’s streak of three straight winning seasons represented its longest since producing a program-record four consecutive winning seasons from 1992-95. Gannon has recorded 13 winning campaigns in school history, including a stretch of five in six seasons from 1990-95.

OVERTIME GAMES: Gannon is 4-4 all-time in overtime games. A 38-35 overtime home loss against Mercyhurst on October 1, 2016 was the Golden Knights’ last overtime session. The last road overtime game resulted in a 10-7 victory at Bloomsburg in 2009.

“KNIGHT” TIME: Gannon is 17-18 in night games over the last 16 seasons, including a 5-4 night record under current head coach Brad Rzyczycki. The Golden Knights fell at Slippery Rock in their only night game last season.

LAST WEEK: Gannon snapped a tie with the final 10 points of the fourth quarter and held off Clarion 38-28 last Saturday on Senior Day at McConnell Family Stadium. The NCAA’s leader rusher on all levels Marc Jones finished with 180 yards and four touchdowns. Redshirt sophomore defensive endAndrew Berger (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) produced career-highs in total tackles (13) and solo stops (8).
