SULLIVAN FAMILY GALLERY CHRISTOPHER KASPAR: SOMEONE'S PAST Using analog photography printed on metal sheets, artist Christopher Kaspar creates new large scale images. Kaspar searches for photographs from the past that seem relevant to current political and social issues. These images are taken from around the world dating from the late 1800's to the 1970's. Topics Kaspar covers with this body of work are family, work, race, and love.

DIANNE BOLDMAN EDUCATION GALLERY EMMA WOLPERT: FINDING MY HOME, FINDING MYSELF-GUO` CHU`CHU` Photographer Emma Wolpert showcases photos she took during her visit back to the orphanage in Huazhou, China, where she lived after being abandoned at a bus station as a young child. Wolpert was later adopted and raised right here. These moving images depict struggle and hope as this young woman finds herself by returning to China. Remarkably, she wishes only happiness for her birth family wherever they are in the world. 7

MAX MARKWALD: SKIN In September of 2018, artist Max Markwald legally changed his name to Max Lukas Markwald and began painting himself once a month for a year as a way of documenting his gender transition. Instead of depicting a fluid transition, each painting became an obscured portrait- hiding in full view. Three years prior to this transition, Markwald's instructor at the University of Akron advised that he should "think about what it means to be a female artist." Caught off guard he replied "I don't want to be a female artist, I just want to be a painter." In this show, Markwald shows us he is just that - a painter. www.max markwaldstudio.com

DIANNE BOLDMAN EDUCATION GALLERY PAM MILLS: WANDERLUST In "Wanderlust" photographer and BAYarts staffer Pam Mills takes us with her on her travels. Mills has the unique ability to capture candid, unexpected moments through the lense as she displays her natural ability to create beautiful compositions. As viewers we have the rare opportunity to join in the fun and adventure as she indulges her desire to wander.
