LIFE SCIENCE IN SKÅNE – a survey of companies in the sector 426 companies 7 500 employees Medtech largest subsector Half of companies are located in science parks LIFE SCIENCE IN SKÅNE – a survey of companies in the sector PREFACE This analysis has been prepared by Øresundsinstituttet as part of the Interreg- There are 426 life science enterprises in Skåne, and together they employ 7 500 people in the region. That is around 1 500 more than the number of people employed by the same compa- project Greater Copenhagen Life Science Analysis Initiative and was written by nies five years ago. How do local politicians perceive party conflicts? Effects of power, trust and ideology Paper prepared for presentation at NORKOM XXVI, Reykjavík 1 – 2 Dec 2017 First draft – do not cite Louise Skoog and David Karlsson School of Public Administration University of Gothenburg Abstract This study reveals how politicians’ conflict perceptions could be affected by ideology, power, and trust: socialists tend to perceive political dissent as higher while politicians who have higher levels of generalized and specified political trust perceive the level of antagonistic behaviour as lower. Influential politicians tend to perceive levels of both forms of conflict as lower. More insights about how and why political actors perceive the same situation differently could potentially foster a greater understanding – a political empathy – among political combatants that may facilitate their interactions. And in turn, increased empathy may generate a mutual political trust, which could further reduce the perception of potentially damaging conflicts such as antagonistic behaviour. The study builds on data from a survey conducted among all councillors in the 290 municipalities in Sweden. 1. Introduction Political work consists of collective processes, where politicians handle political conflicts, interact with representatives from both their own political party and from others, respond to positions and views of other actors. And how political actors perceive actions and positions of others will in turn affect their ability to cooperate (Balliet & Van Lange, 2013; De Swaan & Rapoport, 1973), develop potential strategies, and make decisions regarding future policies. In order to facilitate a functioning democracy, more knowledge is needed on how elected officials perceive the situation they are in. -
Nonlinear Hedonic Pricing: a Confirmatory Study of South African Wines

Its features and planning are remarkable: one of the key agents in the act, Ebbe Hallberg, was state attorney and chief of police in Luleå. Together with a journalist at the conservative newspaper Norrbottens-Kuriren and some army officers, they organised and carried out the bru- tal deed with the aim of silencing dissidents. We will also direct our attention to the history of the Swedish government’s establishment of internment camps for anti-fascists and anti-na- zis during the 1930s and 40s. The largest of the camps was located in the Norrbotten town Stors- ien in the Kalix municipality. Interned here were, among others, members of Flamman’s editorial staff. However, Swedish wines remain largely unknown internationally. In this study, the typicality and sensory space of a set of twelve wines, including five Swedish Solaris wines, was evaluated blind by Swedish wine experts. The aim of the work was to evaluate whether the Swedish wine experts have a common concept of what a typical Solaris wines should smell and taste like or not and, also, to bring out more information about the sensory space and chemical composition of Solaris wines. The results showed a lack of agreement among the wine experts regarding the typicality of Solaris wines. This, together with the results from the sensory evaluation, could suggest the possibility of different wine styles for Solaris wines. -

Projektledare för Skånes del i OECD TR Megaregion Western Scandinavia 1 Foreword Region Skåne and the City of Helsingborg, together with partners in Western Sweden and the Oslo region, have commissioned the OECD to conduct a so-called Territorial Review of the Megaregion Western Scandinavia. A review of opportunities and potential for greater integration and cooperation between the regions and cities in Western Scandinavia. This report is a brief summary of the supporting data submitted by Skåne to the OECD in December 2016 and mainly contains regional trends, strengths and weaknesses. The report largely follows the arrangement of all the supporting data submitted to the OECD, however, the policy sections have been omitted. All the data sets have been produced by a number of employees of Region Skåne and the City of Helsingborg. During the spring, corresponding reports have been produced for both Western Sweden and the Oslo region. The first study mission was conducted by the OECD in January 2017, where they met with experts and representatives from Skåne and the Megaregion. In late April, the OECD will be visiting Skåne and the Megaregion again with peer reviewers from Barcelona, Vienna and Vancouver for a second round of study mission. The OECD’s final report will be presented and decided upon within the OECD Regional Development Policy Committee (RDPC) in December 2017, and subsequently the OECD Territorial Review Megaregion Western Scandinavia will be published. -

Arcus-Gruppen AS | Annual Report 2014 DIRECTORS’ REPORT ArcusGruppen is a leading wine and spirits company in the Nordic region. Its head office is located at Gjelleråsen in Nittedal Municipality. The Group is the global leader in the aquavit market, the market leader in spirits in Norway and Denmark and the market leader and market runner-up in wine in Norway and Sweden, respectively. ArcusGruppen continues to strengthen its position in the Nordic market with revenue growth of 4.7%. External revenue for Wine increased by 8.5% in 2014 and decreased by 1.7% for Spirits. The strong revenue growth for Wine is primarily due to new, attractive agencies and new products. The weakening of SEK and NOK during the year, however, resulted in increased purchasing costs in 2014, which have not been fully offset by changes to the sales price. This has put pressure on profitability. A long-term repositioning of important brands in Spirits contributed to slightly reduced revenue and profitability in the Norwegian market in 2014. The Danish brands are developing as expected following their acquisition in 2013. The production facilities at Gjelleråsen reported positive productivity growth in 2014. FINANCIAL GROWTH Earnings in detail Consolidated operating revenue was MNOK 2,150 in 2014, which represents an increase of MNOK 97 (4.7%) compared to 2013. This increase is mainly attributable to growth in the Wine business area, which reported an increase in external operating revenue of MNOK 99. The Spirits business area reported a decline in its operating revenue of MNOK 14. Profit before tax, financial items, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was MNOK 311, which is MNOK 21 (6.4%) lower than last year. -
