GREECE Sea Arrivals Dashboard Overview

So far in 2018, a total of 11,278 refugees and migrants arrived in by sea. The majority are from Syria (43%), 11,278 Iraq (23%) and Afghanistan (11%). More than half of the sea arrivals January to April 2018 1 population are women (24%) and children (38%), while 38% are men. The majority of new arrivals in 2018 are from Syria (4,817), Iraq (2,623) and Afghanistan (1,236), thus following the trend of arrivals of the last two years. Typically, these three nationalities arrive in family groups.

Men Women Boys Girls Entry points During the first five months of 2018, the majority of refugees and migrants in Greece arrive on Lesvos (6,231), Samos (2,190) and the Dodecanese islands (1,486). In May, refugees and migrants arrived on eight islands. Lesvos receives the highest numbers of people from Syria and Afghanistan over the overall number of sea arrivals in Greece in 2018, whilst arrivals to Crete originate from Iraq and Iran.
